Yeah I am 27 I had a land line for a long time. Maybe my ears just work well?

I'm kind of in the middle. It certainly isn't landline, but my own experience has been fairly clear. You can definitely hear digital artifacts from the compression, which tend to show up as unnatural robot-like sounds in the voice.

When I first got my iPhone, I thought the sound was horrible. I could barely hear. I was at the point of sending it back, when I realized the volume on the earpiece was way down. Now, I'm not an idiot. The loudness of the conversation seemed fine. But oddly enough, when I turned the volume up, the conversation didn't get much louder, but it got significantly clearer.

It's also entirely possible my ears are just severely damaged. I do have "drive you absolutely insane in a silent environment" grade tinnitus.

That's what I have too. I even got the "were you even trying?" from the doctor when I took a hearing test over 10 years ago. I'm sure it's gotten even worse since then.

Man I cant imagine constant tinnitus. It drives me mad.
it's not so bad so long as there's something nearby making noise. Even a fan on the lowest setting is usually enough to drive it off.

It's only like... in the bathroom, with the door closed, and nothing on... the silence reverberates and it gets louder and louder and OH MY GOD MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP WHERE'S MY SCREWDRIVER I HAVE TO REMOVE MY COCHLEA

The constant ringing in my ears has turned me into one of those bastards that can constantly click their pen and not notice. Repetitive noises no longer bother me at all.

it sounds kinda like this, but the tone is "breathier" in mine and it just gets the louder the longer I go without hearing actual noise (skip to :28)

That's over 11 times an hour assuming she sleeps 8 hours a night. So like once every five minutes, every single day, for an entire year.

Bitch needed some cock.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I've had it literally my entire life. I'm not trying to sound like an emo git or something, but I think I literally don't know what silence sounds like because of this.

I'd make a terrible astronaut - "I don't see what the big deal is out here."
