It focused almost exclusively on rvr/PvP content. We maintained characters in every tier, did a ton of keep assaults and defenses, ran premade Scenario groups. Guild and alliance warbands. That sort of thing. What kind of guild?
Really, until Bioware took it over, Warhammer's was a pretty good approximation. Heck, there were some nights where my guild could attack, take, and defend a keep all on their own as "something to do that night." It was a lot of fun. Then EA basically gutted mythic and gave WAR to bioware for some bizarre reason. My theory was they wanted them to have practice in administrating an MMO before TOR launched. But shit went downhill fast.Time to download another client then.
I would love to revisit realm PVP back as it used to be in DAOC.
Probably within a week or two after launch. I'll definitely be playing, just not sure if I'll be leading a guild or just joining one. It took up a HUGE amount of time last time, even though I had specifically planned the guild structure so as NOT to eat up all my time. It pretty much ended up my very own cult of personality, and if I wasn't there to actively lead and give orders, they all got bored and surly and drifted apart instead of doing stuff together. It kinda burns you out faster, feeling the obligations of that kind of leadership. So, when you plan to do your decision GasBandit?
Oh, there was very little drama. The problem was there was very little of ANYTHING if I wasn't there to lead it. I had hoped to build a guild and train officers that could take over for me after I left, making the guild self-perpetuating. I tried, but it didn't work out. When I left the game, despite giving a month's notice and setting up a successor and officers and getting other people to lead guild night events occasionally... the whole thing pretty much dissolved like kool-aid mix into water after I left. It was discouraging.Been there, done that.
Guild officer to a WoW raiding guild... for years... guild was ranked 82nd US.... it was quite the achievement but damn are people drama llamas.
I've been MMO-Less for most of this year, really.Man, how the hell do some of you people have time to play so many MMOs?
Actually, it's been pretty nice. Playing lots of RTSes, FPSes, etc. It'll be nice to have an MMO without the pressure a subscription fee brings, though. Previously, we would play whatever MMO we were active on to the exclusion of ALL OTHER GAMES because it was costing us 30 bucks a month (for 2 accounts). We gotta fix that GasBandit

He's mentioned his wife playing everything he does like a million times...
What. I said a week or two after launch, man
