L4D 2 - Nov 17

Right, so L4D2 keeps crashing and shutting down my monitor (i'm thinking the video card stop transmiting)... i'd say it';s a heat thing, but even with everything on medium it still does it and other games don't do anything no matter how much i play them... doe sValve just hate 8800's?!

Is it just L4D2 or other games? If it's just Left 4 Dead 2, try uninstalling it from Steam then re-installing it. If that doesn't work, then uninstall Steam completely and re-install it and your games. One of these should fix your game.

If it's ALL your games, then yeah, it's probably a hardware issue and your boned.

I think it's just Connect and then the IP, like this:

connect 69.90.34.29:27015

I've played a few more matches online this evening. Tell me something did the i.q. of online gaming drop while I've been away or are most people complete assholes?
I was on one server and was playing as a zombie and having fun. Then several player started typing "He doesn't know how to play" Didn't think much of it then a bit
few second later I get voted off for not being as an expert player as they were.

The same was on another server where I playing on the human team doing well working cooperatively then I get kicked
out of that one as well.

Just because I don't play Left 4 Dead righteously like these guys do. They automatically boot the player out? I've come across fewer assholes like that when I play online
via the PSN.

Are most people assholes these days where they dont allow a modicum for allowing new players in or what? Its kind of starting to piss me off.
I'm doubting if I should pick up Left 4 Dead 2 because I'll run into the same assholes.

This is what turns me off from co-op games. There's always some fat, mouth-breather barking orders at everyone else. If you really want to have a brain hemorrhage, try playing WarIII DOTA maps.

You could also try "Verify integrity of game cache..." instead. Open Steam to the games list, then right click on L4D2 and choose Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game cache. Steam will check all the files, and re-download anything that doesn't match the checksums.

Well it didn't do it today after i unchecked the Multithread option, so i'm guessing once again is just L4D and 8800 cards not getting along... especially since it starts with the same sound repeating like it did when the demo froze. Let's hope that's it.

(worse experience for me was playing Vs in l4d2 with a guy who kept educating me on how we need to play even while i was killing one of teh survivors in the first 5 minutes... apparently it was better to wait for them to get some cans)

Screenshot with highlighting, please. I can't find it anywhere. I did find a post in the Steam forums on a console command that can do it, but nothing about a menu option (like there is in Team Fortress 2).

Coming out this Spring for Left 4 Dead 2 is the brand new DLC "The Passing", which contains:

A Wicked Witch Bride!
A Gargantuan M60!
A Slashing Golf Club!
And Introducing The Fallen Survivor!
Meet 3 Left 4 Dead 1 Survivors!
New Game Modes!

Was that a typo? Game Modes? Didn't we mean Game MODE? Did we mean to include that "S"?!?!?

The Passing's tagline is supposedly "Nobody Survives Forever" and is only going to feature 3 of the L4D1 cast. One of them will die in the upcoming expansion for that game, and won't make it to meet the L4D2 group.

What I haven't heard anything about is the "witch bride". I'm not sure what that means. Nor have I heard any hints on what the new game modes will be.

He was doing a movie or commercial at the time, I think. Regardless of who OFFICIALLY dies in the canon, the L4D1 DLC will have one of the players be the sacrifice. But yeah, it's probably Bill.

btw. I join a group call Super Best Friends. they have the most interesting modded server. (you can find it on my profile) it is pretty fun. they usually have 3-4 servers up if you join the group and then click the + sign. It should show up next to your friends currently playing game (two columns essentially) which is pretty cool.

just remember, when you crouch, you "glide" REALLY fast

The little one or two second sequence of music that plays whenever a special infected spawns. They're very handy for knowing what's coming up ahead. And now I can't hear them.
