Not sure, but a whole lot of his stories do take place in sleepy Maine towns in the woods.
He lives in Bangor. I've been to his house (only the outside). There's no doubt who lives there if you look up photos.

Thor's first photo shoot. I took it just before sunset and the light was amazing...however this is much more fun.
So I went to Nocturne tonight, which was a big, free art festival all around downtown Halifax. All sorts of different exhibitions or art pieces set up. So much fun. And lots of laughs with the group of friends that went on this escapade.
And now for the pics!
An art piece about the wasteful environment. This was all done with plastic bottles.
There's a permanent piece near the harbour called The Wave. It's a big, blue stone wave. Really cool. Anyway, this piece, the Wave of Waste, was about the Great Pacific garbage patch. They even had it set up right next to The Wave and even asked The Wave's original artist for their input.
This was inside the art museum we went to. I don't know if it was an intentional piece, but I thought it was hilarious that a big empty room was called The Education Gallery.
They had a ferris wheel set up on Citadel Hill.
One helleva view of the city from Citadel Hill.
On the bright side, I made some new friends, like this guy!
One art exhibit was actually just a big room with blank canvases, inviting the public to draw or write whatever they wished. One of my friends did this with some post-it notes. I like how the final word - TIME - is further away than the rest.
I was inspired to make my own. Pretty much sums up how I feel these days.
Another one of my friends posed outside one of the buildings. I immediately saw potential for something and asked him to stay where he was while I positioned myself on the other spot.
And I got to climb into a firetruck!
Finally, we decided to end the night at The Board Room, a relatively new place in Halifax that has a gigantic selection of board games, but also serves as a pub with food servings and alcohol!
So yeah, pretty great night overall. Nothing says a good night like playing Fireball Island.

That first one almost looks like a Seurat painting rather than a photograph.

I love how the background looks. I have no idea how he did it.
Wide aperture (for low depth-of-field), center focus on the foreground trees, jpeg artifacting + unsharp mask to make the foreground pop and simultaneously mottle the background.
...at least, that's my guess.
