Send that mob to the lumber yard, I'm with Sparhawk. To me, they are like Hot Pockets. Yeah, I enjoyed the experience while it was happening, but later on I always feel terrible.
all pizza rolls? thats a little broad. do you not like pizza?
I like pizza, I like it a lot. But, I admit, I assume this is about the pre-made frozen variety that you see commercials about on television.
Yeah, I think we need some definitions here. Are we talking about pre-made frozen crap which doesn't deserve to be called "food", or a mom-n-pop pizza shop (or you at home) making fresh calzones?

I love me some calzones. Some peperoni and green peppers.... ok, now I'm drooling.
Seconded. All pre-made frozen microwave foods suck.

I don;t eat pizza rolls all the time but sometimes I just get a strong craving for them. I think it reminds me of my childhood so it's pretty much a comfort food.

Damnit now I have an urge to make a spinach and mushroom calzone. I should have never opened this thread.

Calzone and pizza rolls are the same thing? Then I've had them. And loved them.
That's why I'm asking. Because when someone says "pizza roll", I think calzone, but other people might think of the crappy Hot Pocket-ish microwave things. One is awesome, the other is decidedly not.

Screw you guys Totinos Pizza rolls are awesome and I am someone who hates Hot Pockets.
Left on my own I would live on Pizza Rolls as long as it was the pepperoni kind.

Thanks now I need to make either a stromboli or a calzone when I get home tonight.

What Chaz said. Now I can't stop thinking about these awesome calzones I used to make for myself at the restaurant I worked at a little while back. Unfortunately, I don't have what is needed to make one here, ingredients wise, and grocery day is tomorrow. My calzone craving will just have to go unsated until then I'm afraid.

I love calzones.
I have actually never had pizza rolls, and I was a latchkey kid. I'd make hot dogs and kraft mac & cheese - well before Easy Mac, mind you - for me and my sister, starting when I was around 10 years old, I think. Or toasted sandwiches.
Actually I think the closest we ever had to pizza rolls were "toaster pizza" which was actually a english muffin with tomato paste, oregano, and a slice of mozzarella on it, cooked in the toaster oven.

On first reading I thought chaz had actually stated an opinion without being an ass for a change and I was somewhat impressed. Of course, I was wrong. Status Quo - maintained.

Calzone yes, Pizza rolls no.
Like eschusion I eat healthy all the time so microwavable food never appeals to me.

Whatever darlin', you keep enjoying your grease filled cardboard, ass dumplings.
I'm going with Gas and the others here. Almost anything microwaved like that is terrible.
Mini-pizzas, hot pockets (death pockets!), pizza rolls, etc are just raunchy.
I'll make french bread baked pizza if I want something quick and easy that doesn't taste like the underside of a 18-wheeler that just drove 8,000 miles with dead animals caught in the tires.

I usually cook my pizza rolls in the oven so they get crispy. I will cook them in the microwave if I am in a hurry but I think they taste better in the oven.

I LIKE Totinos.
However, I will have to try Chaz's "recipe" at some point in the VERY near future. Just bake 'em as usual?
Yeah man, you get the Pillsbury pizza dough (and no it's not frozen, it's located in the dairy/eggs area of the grocery store). Roll it out, get a cup out and use it to cut circles of dough out. Toss in some cheese and diced up pepperoni, bake at 400 until they're nice and brown on the outside (about ~10 min). 10,000X better than that frozen cardboard shit.

Alot of people here actually give a damn what food tastes like.
Admitting you like something bad is fine. Claiming that something that's terrible isn't? Not so much.
Ex: I love Chicken McNuggets. Even though they're probably one of the worst fast food products ever created.
I'm of the camp that just because something passes as food doesn't make it edible or palatable. Totinos anything (along with Chef Boyardee, Stauffers, Mr. T's, etc..) tastes like processed, frozen foods often do. Bland, tasteless, and full of salt and preservatives. If I was in a survival situation where I had the choice of eating a pine cone or a frozen brand pizza roll, I'd eat the pizza roll, but I'd think long an hard over choosing the pine cone.

Ok, I think we're losing focus here. People who like Totino's pizza rolls can like them. People who don't like them can not like them. It's even ok to share your opinion on these foods. Do we really have to be asses to people who don't share our opinion on these products?
Why does every disagreement on food here have to turn into a dick-fest?

North_Ranger
North_Ranger's hierarchy of pizza:
1. Home-made pizza.
2. Italian.
3. Deep-dish.
4. 'Thin' pizza.
5. Pizza bread (=slice of bread with toppings of your own choice, microwaved)
6. Calzone (never had it, but I imagine it would go here at least)
7. Cold home-made pizza.
8. Cold pizza bread.
9. Bolognese sauce on a cracker.
10. Cold bolognese sauce on a cracker.
11. Uncooked pizza dough.
12. Anything pre-made, oven/microwave-ready and store-bought.
That's just the way I roll. I don't really like pre-made pizzas of any kind. But if you do, hey, no skin off my back. De gustibus non est disputandum.
Same here. I thought the new review was up.
*I* thought this was going to be about Jake Hunter novels (since this cover showed up again on Reddit yesterday).
I've always preferred Bagel Bites to Pizza Rolls myself.

I took a huge bag of pizza rolls to my friend's house for the Tuesday Morning Football showing of the Texan's game... they were a hit.
