Random Video Game Crap

I'm over 9 hours into an Honour Mode run in BG3. My longest before this was 50min. It takes a lot more planning and strategy, and a lot more long rests. My builds are vastly different than in an "RP/that looks cool" playthrough.

Apparently Youtube can make a recap of the gaming content I've watched this year, and to no one's surprise, it would seem I'm quite a simp.

My top 5 would've all been hot girls if not for me using Womble's Bullshitteries as background noise when I'm doing household chores.

My top five aren't terribly surprising to me:

1) Matt McMuscles - He does "What Happened?" videos on games. No surprise there. I discovered him just this year and binge watched a lot of his past stuff.

2) Second Wind - Again, no surprise.
3) Andrew Bluett - If you haven't watched his excellent Final Fantasy retrospectives, I highly recommend them.
4) Jim Sterling - Although they kept brand name for the channel, that's Steph Sterling. Yep, no surprise there. I never miss a video of hers.
5) City Planner Plays - I guess I find I enjoy watching people play City Skylines more than I do playing it for myself.

Top games:
1) Animal Well - I got hooked on this early in the year, but also looked up a lot of guides.
2) Cities SKylines 2 - Haven't even bought it yet, but watch a lot of videos about it.
3) Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League - I guess watching a lot of videos on a trainwreck counts.
4) Firewatch - No idea why there. I replayed it recently and looked up some guides to find hidden stuff, I guess, and some video essays afterwards.
5) Astro Bot - No surprise. I haven't bought it yet, but I've watched a lot of videos about it.

I got someone named Squilakilla as my number one and I had no idea who that was. He makes Elden Ring videos. I watched one of them. I don't know how he's my number one watched creator.

Could be worse...about a quarter of the games I've bought, I've never played. But, that explains why I rarely buy games these days. And those I do play, I play the shit out of.

That said, this tool has to be looking at the full price of games. Because I know I didn't spend $50.00 on X-Com 2 (which I've never opened). At about $30, i really start getting gun-shy about buying stuff. If that's the case, then the metrics are off...yup, I'm seeing Humble Bundle stuff on this list marked at full price.

Edit: Metrics are definitely off, because it says I've never played Sifu, Satisfactory, Witcher 3 or Satellite Reign (some of the most expensive games on the shame list) and I've played them all.

And yeah, looking down my pile of shame, most of these are games being valued at $60 that I got for free or at least less than $10

I alt tab out of games for extended periods of time ALL the time, or did when I actually played games. I think for every 10 minutes spent playing a game for the longest time I would also spend like 2 hours alt tabbed doing other things. It always skews the bejesus out of my /played.

Oh also, it just doesn't show me as owning any games at all. I'm not sure why, I don't think my profile is private or anything.

Play TFT if you want some in-universe fun and not the headaches of Rift and right now the set is Arcane based so even better. Free for all so no teammates weird anger issues to manage.

Alternatively, ARAM is there and folks are typically more chill*

*Still dumb people like any multiplayer game now, mute them if it's a problem. ARAM is just fun smashing your head at one another teamfights all game, one lane, and only the normal lane objectives to take.
