Even the new ones?
Ehh, the 3DS emulator is still very much a work in progress, but DS emulators are a thing. So you can play the first dozen or so. The latest two, granted, I am not sure about. The only one I ever played was Rekka no Ken (Blazing Sword), and obviously, the GBA emulator pretty much works perfectly.

I don't want to get into too many details, but ... You PC players are familiar with consol-itis.

Is there an opposite term for when a PC game is ported to a console and just does not work right or is drenched in stuff that obviously works better with a mouse and keyboard?

PSN was having a deal on Banner Saga/Banner Saga 2 and I thought, cool, I don't have the second one yet, and I could get both on PSN and that'd be good anyway. Right? NO. It plays terribly with the controller and it's a challenge just to figure out what's going on. Part of the problem is that on PC, just mousing over a unit would you info you needed. Here, everything's an on/off display nightmare. Different selections depend upon the joystick, D-pad, or shoulder buttons. It's probably something I could get used to, but why should I?

Moral of the story is, in the rare event I can partake in the goods of the PC master race, I should not try to drag those treasures into my usual console slum.

They call it Starcraft 64-itis.

Banner Saga would have been so good if they would have tweaked their shitty combat. Pillage mode punishes you for being good and pigeon holes you play a certain way THEY want you to.

Fuck THAT

If that shit was modded out, I'll play it again

Isn't that every FPS? :troll:

It's not bad because you suck at it. :p

I still like the game ... on PC. The console gameplay's the same, but the controls and display are crap with a controller.

Developers have learned to make FPS games tenable for console to the point that it's negatively affecting them on PC; I don't know why unit-map games are such a struggle sometimes.

How is winning every battle sucking? They were fucking tedious and pigeon-holed me in playing a way the devs wanted me to play.

Every fucking battle was the same, cripples all your enemies simultaneously until they couldn't hurt you anymore and then hope you can get to the last ones in pillage mode in-time before they had 5 turns before the closest unit had his.

I never had the problems you described. I think you took the mechanics to an extreme that didn't work for you. I crippled and killed enemies in equal measure.

My real struggle was the caravan stuff outside of battle. I apparently excel at trusting the wrong people. Spent most of the game with people either leaving the group or starving.

It wasn't a problem I couldn't handle but ultimately made me uninstall the game about halfway out of boredom.
It was simply tedious, just like trying to make my point three times to make you understand how tedious it was.
Tedious inception.

That I understand. I'm sure as hell not going to play a game that bores me; no one should.

The development of the latest Deus Ex illustrates how full price premium games are harmed by publisher insistence on free-to-play-esque "optional" dlc content.

I don't play Arma 3, but I have gamed with MilSim guys who took it WAY too seriously, so this made me crack up from start to finish.

In case you are occasionally tempted to try CS:GO, as I am from time to time (like when I watch Dunkey play it)...

... here's a reminder that it's a garbage game for garbage people.

Shooting him multiple times in the head, the game doesn't register it. This is a common complaint.
I can't tell from the gif whether the shots registered, would there be any telltale signs? Worth noting that the USP loses a ton of damage when silenced, and the CT might've been wearing armor. This game runs on D&D rules, bullets don't disable, they reduce HP. I have fond 1.6/Source memories of having to loose 2 bursts (6 shots) off a Glock-18 into people's heads to kill them. Weapon balance is hardly garbage :p

Garbage game. For garbage people. 9 headshots with any weapon should probably kill.

It does account for hit location, in practice. You're also forgetting about the weapon spread and, again, the reduced damage from the silencer. I don't think CS claims to be realistic (have you heard what silenced weapons sound like?), but I don't understand the garbage moniker.

BF1. It hurts. It's the prettiest, funnest looking game I probably won't ever play.

Damn it, that does look really fun. I wonder if the BF2 servers are still running, that was the last game in that series I truly enjoyed, and this actually seems close to it.

Yeah, but you know what else looked fun? Star Wars Battlefront. Then we learned.... the rest of the story. /PaulHarvey

The moment I saw the comparison with the previous version I was no longer interested.

What a shame. Looks great.

Now make KOTOR 3 Bioware, the time is nigh.

@Bubble181 In Metroid Fusion there is a shape-shifting species of alien called the X Parasite. One of them takes over Samus Aran's power armor, creating the SA-X, which stalks you periodically throughout the game, and is much too powerful to defeat before you can collect certain upgrades.

@Bubble181 however, despite its overwhelming invincible-ness, it is also has famously bad AI programming, often leading to comedic situations like outlined above.
