Watching House of the Dragon, as far as I can tell it's all about old men deciding who a young girl has sex with, seems very republican.

Finally finished the Last of Us finale. I've not played the video games so I have no idea how faithful the TV adaptation is. I'm just disappointed that the protagonist is going all murderhobo like his counterparts in any number of zombie franchises.

True. I've wanted a Firefly return for years.

On the other hand, with Adam Baldwin coming out as a Republican asshole, Nathan Fillion allegedly bullying his Castle co-star, and of course, the multiple allegations against Joss Whedon, I'm a LOT less interested in a Firefly revival now.

Eh, it's been 15+ years, they couldn't even continue with the same cast if they wanted to and I'm honestly not looking fora reboot - as far as I'm concerned the window has closed.

Poker Face on Peacock is so good. I'm on ep 4 and I love it. Natasha Lyonne basically plays Columbo and she "solves" a murder each episode but she is also on the run herself in an overlaying story arc. Created by Rian Johnson; Highly recommended.

I keep meaning to watch it. I'm already downloading it every week. I liked Lyonne in Russian Doll.

Carnival Row season 2

It stinks!

Not entirely, there are a few moments, here and there, but while the first season was mediocre and somewhat intriguing, the second season feels rushed, ham fisted, pointlessly gory, shallow, and just generally a noisy mess. There's some decent acting, but the script didn't give them much to work with.

I occasionally see those Letterkenny guys on youtube. But I never really gave the show a chance because most stuff that starts funny on youtube turns to shit once corporate committees get ahold of them after being picked up by some name in the industry.

Decided to give it a shot a few days ago.
I've since binge-watched up to season 5.

I watched the first episode and was instantly transported to my home province. Binged the first season twice then talked with my old accent for a week.

Recently watched "And just like that", the sequel to Sex and the City.
Also finished Minx, a series about setting up a feminist magazine (or porn for women) in the '70s.

Both have been panned as too woke and all that jazz. I really liked Minx, it was funny, sometimes original, mostly well-rounded characters. Worth a watch.
"And Just like that", on the other hand....Too much, too quickly, with too much virtue signaling. Really can't recommend it. Of course they all suddenly sprout a bunch of sassy and smart black friends, one main character suddenly turns gay, one has a trans child, one has a trans friend who is just awesome and supercool, etc etc. SATC managed to tackle a whole bunch of politically correct (the term at the time) topics and laugh about them, this just came off as preachy and tryhard. I dunno, maybe it's me?

Minx was really, really good. And it got fucked by that idiot at Discovery, who killed it despite having already filmed season 2.

EDIT: I just found out that Starz picked it up for season 2. Yay, it will still get aired! Boo, I don’t have Starz!

You almost gave me a heart attack, I had seen it was renewed for a 2nd season and then you went and said it got killed :-D

I hope it'll become available somehow. I don't have Starz, either, but hey, that's what alternative means are for :-D

I haven't watched And Just Like That, because a few years ago when I was rewatching SATC, which I loved as an 18-early 20's-year-old, once I was the same age as the characters, I started getting really embarrassed of them. Like, "You're in your mid-30's, you shouldn't be this emotionally and socially stunted" type of embarrassed (though I did appreciate Samantha a lot more). But I will say, in the case of Cynthia Nixon's character arc, it's practically autobiographical; She was married to a guy for a long time, had kids with him, and then realized she's a lesbian, divorced him, and has been with her wife ever since.
