Joining Collective of Heroes seems to have given Supervillainous a pretty big boost in readership. For the last year, my weekly unique hits was hanging around 1,400. In the month since I've joined CoH, it doubled, then passed 3,000, and keeps climbing.

This week, it passed 4,000.

Edit - Whoops! Misread that. I'm almost at 4,000.

I've been wanting to post this for a while.

Last week my school hosted a group of Tibetan monks who are traveling around the US raising money for their monastery and the people in their town. We set up little meditation rooms for them so they could teach us to do it. Every day we got to watch them create a mandala out of sand. It was incredible. They brought this unbelievable sense of calm to the campus. They ate and played with the kids, they visited our classrooms, and they shared their culture with us at a couple of special evening events. It was an unforgettable week.

All the students were taught to put their hands palm to palm when they wanted to greet one of the visitors. But of course, you tell a Pre-K kid that and it sounds like nonsense. So when it was their turn to visit, they all ran to hug this one monk--the one who'd gotten a reputation for being really open and funny--and he just grabbed 4 kids at a time and picked them up and hugged them. This guy who, for the most part, had been silent and calm all week (with the occasional cheeky grin). I almost cried. Schools are so cautious about touch nowadays that to see such a playful and earnest expression of affection was overwhelming. He swung them around and made silly faces and talked to their teachers about how happy they all seemed. I'll never forget that moment.

A funny thing that happened after, almost every teacher was told something like, "When I'm a student, when they want me to be good, I get the stick. These students don't need the stick," and they'd mime someone grasping a stick and hitting with it.

Fence is done. Deck is done. Aaaaand...

:D:D:D[DOUBLEPOST=1427855207,1427854806][/DOUBLEPOST]BTW, that pic of the air hockey table doesn't do it justice. It's a full size table. I asked my wife if it came with some Canadians, so they could skate on it and play hockey.
Nice game room, bro. Ready for some Halforumite deadbeats that won't ever leave?

Still need the lounge area with the bar, but I'd be down for some visitors.

I am not concerned about anyone overstaying their welcome--I've got adult kids. I know how to get someone out of the house when I'm ready for them to leave ;)

She just got home....she saw the credit card and signature since she was working the register. It was definitely Linda Hamilton :D

She's sitting over my shoulder, talking so loudly and excitedly that my brain is aching ;)

No! They spun it into tons of publicity! Don't take my Manuela!
Don't worry, I'm sure she will continue appearing, wiser for her experience.

Wiser, as in now she knows what Thom Beers' tallywhacker tastes like.
