Dammit, man! You were free! You were living the dream! Whyyyyyyy...... :waah:
lol, if you wanted some, Jake, you shoulda spoke up sooner.

but you know..i'm not married yet...:unibrow:
Hey, I can only drop so many hints before I start to think you're not interested. :humph:

I took my wife to see the Chieftans (the Celtic group) last night and they were awesome! I got good seats as well, something she'd never buy for herself. Great night of music and dancing!

And what the heck, here's another one.

Here's my first and so far only 50 in City of Heroes, RooGirl. Never found another character I loved playing like her. I don't RP her, but her backstory is she is an Australian aborigine who was sideswiped by a spell meant for another, which merged her spirit with that of a kangaroo. So she's got the jumping and fighting abilities (MA/regen) and the only other physical manifestation is her tail (which you have to imagine is that of a kangaroo). In other words, she's not a furry, just a regular-looking young woman who kicks ass. This explains her relatively uninteresting outfit.

This is my Valentine's Day present from my husband, a commission by an artist who used to work at his company. A really nice young guy who's done cards for the WoW TCG among other things. I just love her! And Roo always does wear that heart T-shirt, not just for Valentine's. (We don't share a fashion sense.)

Here's his deviantART page, if you'll pardon the plug. He is having trouble finding work these days and I believe he's still taking commissions. Even if you're not in the market, check out his work (including a higher-res version of that painting)! Tell him RooGirl sent you, if you are in the market.

My, that is nice. Makes me wonder which of my CoH characters would benefit from a similar treatment. Nathan's the only one I can think of with the requisite elegant simplicity to his design - maybe the Red Doctor costume-wise, but being a Bots/Traps Mastermind makes him kind of... busy.

Thanks guys! :D Yeah, it's funny, I thought her costume being on the plain side would be a downside, initially. But the cool thing about it was that I didn't have to describe anything to the artist (except her tail, which I really wanted to have more of a kangaroo look to it), since it's pretty self-evident with a few more screenshots for reference. So the painting is entirely his artistic interpretation, but still perfectly captures what I think of as her "personality," if she can be said to have one.

Spent the day doing good old innovation, rather than the dull drudgery of reports-reports-reports.

I miss doing that sort of coding.

Fan-freaking-tastic Mardi Gras Ball!

I wore my pretty dress, and I drank a half a bottle of Shiraz (new record for ol' Leslie... hardcore, I know :eyeroll: ), I danced and danced and danced, got to see the fellow in a tux (rowr) and got to eat post-drunk pancakes also in a pretty dress. All in all a perfect night.

Next up---PARADES! O jas.

Epic craziness: just found out that one of our very nice forumites used to work with my mother! My mind is kinda blown, but not in a bad way.

I had a moment like that a few days ago, where I suspected one of my RL friends of being a forumite. We were talking about something, and I guess I got a little enthusiastic or loud, and he said "Bring down the gusto a bit."

I was like "WHO ARE YOU HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT NAME".

Not to be a tease but probably better if I don't, just to keep privacy as intact as possible. Suffice it to say there's nothing juicy to this story other than it being a major "small world" kind of moment.

Ooh, ooh, was it me? I only ask because I've worked quite a few of your mothers and...

*Rereads OP*

Oh, worked with your mother. Well, never mind then

This morning I pulled on a pair of 32 waist trousers, which I have not been able to wear for a couple years.

They fit, no problems at all. :D

I've dropped over 25 pounds / 1.5 stone since September simply by cutting back on how much I eat and drink.

I just received an email from the Director of Admissions at the college I got my Masters & MBA. The email reads:

Hope all is well? While you may or may not be interested in an employment opportunity, I was always impressed with you during the MAM program and thought this Q&A position may be a way to get you on board.
One of my dreams is to be a teacher and this is a foot-in-the-door scenario.

It's quite a substantial raise, the job is not being posted and he contacted me directly! :aaahhh:

I almost didn't post it here out of respect for another forumite, but I had to tell someone!
