How exciting Dave! I hope this is the beginning of things turning around for you.
It's quite a substantial raise, the job is not being posted and he contacted me directly! :aaahhh:

I almost didn't post it here out of respect for another forumite, but I had to tell someone!
High five man! :D

At the very least. Way to go Mr. Nihsen!

Go Go Nihsen Go!
You seem to be on a roll the past few days, which you absolutely deserve after the few weeks before that. Keep it up! Whoo yeah!
Go play powerball. If you win, it was my idea so I get 10%, right? :-P

Are you sure she's not trying to lead you into her van?

Nope. She has a Prius. Nice car, but she has recently realised not near as nice as my Rabbit. Dunno why she got it knowing how spiff the Rabbit (Golf) is. :eyeroll:

So these Mage Knights are 4 to a booster and I have 48 boosters in the carton, so that's 192 figures I have. They were made by WizKids (they who ceased to exist.) I have the game manual and stuff, so I'm all set for total all-out warfare in the living room when I get home. :D

My father-in-law came through his cancer operation and prostatectomy with flying colors. Was only in the hospital one night and won't need radiation or anything. He's 85 years old and this is his third time beating cancer -- one tough motherfucker and a sweet, sweet guy, just like his son. :D

Now THERE's a warrior. Much kudos to the primate in law. That is indeed EPIC.

He should be giving Lance Armstrong advice!

And extra $70+ in my pay! Was there some massive new tax cut I didn't know about? Seems too soon for that bill Obama signed. I should probably keep quiet about it. Money attracts problems. :ninja:

My sweet & sour, spicy carrot pickles are the hit of than land.

What to pickle next...?

Made a lot of progress in packing up my room, and my last week of work ends this coming Thursday. Outlook for move is very positive, and I'm confident this was the right choice as opposed to sticking around this town.

Both finals done and turned in. Got a good feeling about my psychology case study. Now I have the next week off. I've got plans to try a couple of new recipes and just chill. We're taking a mini-vacation starting Thursday night. My mom will be here to watch the kiddo while we're away. Oh yeah.

I got cast member of the month today(I work at a movie theatre). No real benefit from it but it's nice to know they recognize my work, especially since it gets voted on by all of the team leaders(sort of employee supervisors) as well as all the managers.

I also have a date on Monday or Tuesday, not sure which yet. Not entirely sure what it is we're gonna do yet but we'll figure something out eventually. We we're going to go see Watchmen together but she is going to Ontario on Wednesday.

And I may have found a place to rent that actually allows cats, is in downtown Victoria and not a crappy suburb way out of the way and is only a ten minute walk from work as opposed to a 15 minute drive.

I the professor for my research writing class gave me a huge compliment in some feedback for one of my last assignments in the class. It made me choke up when I read it.

We were asked what advice we'd give to students just coming into the class. My response was that I would tell new students to choose their topic wisely. I explained how after a few weeks of researching physician-assisted suicide I started to find it depressing. I had a personal connection to the subject in a way because of the history of illness and such in my immediate family. If I had been able to do it all over I would have picked a different topic.
My professor's reply was that he wants to use my advice for his upcoming classes. He also said it was obvious from how the subject effected me that I took my project seriously - like a real writer.

OMG, I was floored. Retelling the story is making my eyes well up with tears. I don't think I have ever had a teacher, in any capacity, tell me something like this. Wow.

$11 on me lotto ticket and a silver 25 cents in me change. Puts a grin above me chin this rainy day :D

Grats WS! It's always nice to get unexpected validation like that from a professor.

This isn't exactly epic, but Ze Frank retweeted my stupid joke today and it's put a smile on my face as I've been a big fan since before "The Show."

I just had a two-hour bus trip, with two gals sitting on my lap making out with each other/me.... with of course, a bunch of poor brazilian saps behind me wondering whatever is it that they did wrong in life, that they are not in my shoes that instant.

I love being me.

I've been recently tied up with creating a search tool with a tie to plotting results on Google maps. The API for Google maps isn't too bad, but coding javascript again, ick. Still, the results have impressed.

Sanjay Gupta is more interested in raking in the big bucks from Big Pharma than being Surgeon General of the U.S.

EPIC FUCKING WIN. Go back to CNN, you quack asshole.

I found my video card driver disc!

I've reinstalled everything and can now watch TV on my video card (and record it to HDD)!

Jeopardy is on!

My brain, it is melting! Melting!! :Leyla:

Yay!

My mother just emailed me saying that her friend Naomi, the Captain of the Xanadu Krewe, wants me to sing the National Anthem at next year's ball! This is the perfect way to practice performing again, because everyone there's so drunk they'll applaud no matter what. :D

Gotta start practicing! Do, re, mi......

Thanks! I've been practicing for a long time, because I'd like to try and do some community theatre once I'm settled someplace (I kind of live between two places right now :\). This is a great opportunity to get used to it again.

BEHOLD! LO! Though for years he had been but a petty cubical rat! Now enter Edrondol's OFFICE!!
