It wasn't re-animated in the sense that it was 2D then put in to 3D, they did it simultaniously, together. It was never in the plan for it to be 2D. Keane talked about how he wanted the movie to look like paintings and how he wanted it to be a 2D movie in 3D. He did a pretty interesting seminar about it, I think it was called 'Best of Both Worlds' if I remember right.

Tangled vs. Princess and the Frog is all about the title. Disney thought the Princess and the Frog title discouraged boys from seeing the film and so Tangled was re-named (late in production) to Tangled from Rapunzel. They blamed the title for the poorer reception of Princess and the Frog, not necessarily that it was animated.

I figure PatF bombed because it just wasn't a good movie. The animation was great, but the rest was mediocre at best.
The villain was pretty good and I feel like the movie would have been better if he'd played a more active role in hunting down the Prince. He also has one of the best Disney villain songs.

I do agree there, I liked him and the general setting used around him. The rest of the cast wasn't so great.

I actually liked Princess and the Frog. But then again, I have a soft spot for jazz and depictions of the South.
Huh.. that's funny. Two foreigners seeing from outside regional variances of another culture and having opposite reactions to it. I dislike most of the southern-y things, while really enjoy the more new england-y. Then again, the US's South and Mexico don't have a story of friendship and loving, y'know? Plus their accents really, really annoy me.

One of my favorite things from Princess and the Frog is that Lottie isn't the bratty best friend. She's spoiled, sure, but she actually cares about her friend and wants her to be happy too. One of my favorite, most surprising, depictions of friendship Disney has given me. :)

Now I admit to liking Princess and the Frog, plot could've had more to it but I though it was good. But the "When were human" song was definitely the weakest song in the film.

See this is funny, because I liked Princess and the Frog. It was stock story and characters, but the music and the villain set it apart.

Last night, I had a dream so vivid that I woke up this morning and didn't know what time or even what day it was.

And the first one of you knuckleknobs that comes back with "Why, it's Christmas Day, sir!" will get double the doomweasels in your stockings.

And by stockings, I mean pants.

I fucking love that flag, the way it's like the result in the most bizarre clothmath equation just appeals to my brain so much for some reason.

It's like:

Bam! Science!

I just wish they would retroactively include Wales in the flag as well (Wales was part of England back when the Union Flag was created, so they were technically represented by St George's too) and include that kick ass dragon they have on the flag.

Oh yes it was. They were working on a Rapunzel movie waaaay back in the 90s. And even when they officially announced the title as "Tangled", rather than "Rapunzel" as it had been called for a decade, they were billing it as Disney's next traditionally animated film. Tangled is possibly the longest production ever for an animated film.

Every year from Primary school until junior high we had to draw this god damn flag. It looks easy...but those triangles are the devil. I either always made them to wide or to narrow or too long or too short. I had a collection of Idiot Flags.

We also had to draw the Union Jack. Newfoundlanders are pretty much Anglophiles.

I prefer the Republic of Newfoundland flag, though.

Hell. Most of my family flies this one on their ships and flag poles. It's a nice looking tri-color!

That doesn't mean it was this particular movie they were working on. It's possible they started a tradtionally animated movie and it never got anywhere. More likely that they started on it, changed their minds and started over with the 'Tangled' we got. The version of Tangled that actually got made was never intended for just 2D. It's completely viable, and highly likely, that they had ideas or started a 2D Rapunzel story. I will, however, totally agree that it was in production forever.

Soooo...I MAY be knocked up.

I'm...having a neutral feeling towards it...so this is going here.

On the one hand, I wanted to go back to school in the fall and I wanted to travel this year...go to new exciting places.

On the other...I could have a girl this time!

It's still too early for a test to tell, I believe. All other signs point to 'yes' though.

Cleaned out my kitchen towel cabinet the other day, found an odd menagerie of items. A clip-magnet, an NJEA mouse-pad, broken pop-corn mixer, and my little brother's home-work from what I assume to be from the 8th grade. I think everyone in the house thought the cabinet was for something different, and it just got like this crazy assortment of bags and science definitions.

Well, since I've moved to the city I've been making a real effort to get some more friends. I mean, I have 'em in my hometown and a few of them are scattered around the northside, but lately it's been basically spending my nights watching netflix with the roommates or spending way too much money on cabs to go across the city. Anyway, so it's almost a I Love You, Man situation. It's incredibly awkward to like try and make new friends. Also it's odd to be like "HM. Would this dude be a cool dude to hang out with?"

I feel weird about people having trouble making friends, I'm one of those that always has OTHER people approaching me to be friendly. I think it's about confidence, to be honest bro.. don't make it feel like you're LOOKING for a friend, it's less awkward that way, just be yourself and if they like that you'll find you're going out for beers every other day without even planning it.

It's always been an issue with me and the friends I have are more than content to just kind of hang out with the same people we've known since grade school. It's nice, but it's been wearing on me.

I don't know, I'm a friendly enough guy, but there's a slight disconnect I feel with people I don't know lately. I'll feel awkward, feel like I have nothing to talk about and end up coming off as rude and uninterested apparently.

I don't know. Been making strides? Went to trivia last night with a few people I met at a party a week ago.

I think it's that I've been too much in a bubble and if it takes any work I'll just fall back to the norm.

Sex without birth control can do that ;)

Wait, wait, wait, I don't have to singlehandedly replenish the earth?[DOUBLEPOST=1357590271][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh

Ah, my wife pointed out there's a problem already since I'm only having boys.

Seems there's a flaw in my plan.
Perhaps your offspring was the apocalypse the Mayans foretold.
