I might not remember Dumbo too well, but it seems they're at least not doing a retread of the same story like with most of these other remakes? I think Dumbo flying was really just the climax of the original, but here it seems to be the central plot. But I could be remembering wrong.

You're correct. Dumbo flying was the big climax of the original movie, but it's pretty much the remembered thing now, so it makes some sense to build this new film around it.
I admit that's a good trailer, but I'd be LYING if I said I didn't SCOFF when I read the words "From the Imagination of Tim Burton". He...he did not imagine this concept, its a VERY old concept it is.

...a CITY HUNTER adaptation? Is...is there THAT big a market for that for a reboot of that?

I do think they captured the City Hunter feel and humor pretty well though. Ryo's always been a hilarious blend of perviness and badassery.
