Oh yeah, I can't watch American idol, I tried to watch it, but couldn't stand it.Pretty much all "reality" (Survivor) or "spectacle" (AmerIdol/Voice) television. Just see no use for them except as a distraction.

Too much America in it?Oh yeah, I can't watch American idol, I tried to watch it, but couldn't stand it.
I feel the same way as many of you regarding reality shows, but I go into more detail by despising "reality competition shows created for television" like Survivor and song/dance contests (remember when there were about a half dozen cake decorating competitions?). My only exception is Iron Chef. Other reality shows can be classified as documentaries. I like Discovery and some Travel Channel stuff (Mythbusters, No Reservations, Top Gear UK), but Travel brought in too many food shows. I used to watch a lot of Food Network and Cooking Channel, but that has dropped to near zero viewing time, especially once Good Eats ended. I dislike a lot of Bravo/AMC/A&E/History stuff like the proliferation of pawn/storage/duck/housewives angles.Ditto on the "reality" shows. The only one I ever could really stomach was Deadliest Catch. Also can't stand the performance shows - I've seen the Gong Show, it never gets better than that, so don't try
