Video Game News and Miscellany

It looks like a brand new engine at least, assuming this wasn't ENTIRELY prescript-ed. The Gamebyro engine was always the problem in 3 and New Vegas.

Bethesda and From Software are my two main exemptions to that rule. I've never regretted a Day 1 purchase from ether.
Then you must be looking forward to From Software's next game, Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Palico DX for the 3DS, where you play as a Palico and do little village chores with all your little cat friends, and sometimes take part in an advanced version of that crappy Meowster Hunter mini-game from MH4U.

I wish I was joking; I saw their name come up and my jaw dropped.

That shot of people outside a closed vault as the bombs drop--yeesh.

Spoilered for size.

Well, I need a napkin for this drool.[DOUBLEPOST=1433344872][/DOUBLEPOST]This is also the first game I'll play set in a city with which I'm intimately familiar, so that will be fun.[DOUBLEPOST=1433344919][/DOUBLEPOST]By which I mean I had sex with Boston.

C'mon guys. This is obviously not a real trailer.

There were no pre-order bonuses or DLC at the end of the video.
The picture on the website shows the box for the Xbox One version of the game front and center, that only happens nowadays when Microsoft has bought some sort of exclusivity (timed DLC probably) with a game.[DOUBLEPOST=1433347113,1433347058][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, man, the visuals in that trailer are not impressive at all.

Don't set your expectations at Assassin's Creed 2 Italy levels. I'm intimate with the DC metro/northern Maryland, same area Bethesda is in, and they couldn't even aspects of their own region right.

Though my wife and I have gotten a lot of mileage over how some Fallout 3 NPCs talk about Germantown in terror. Yeah, okay, sure ... that's one of the more upscale areas of Maryland's more wealthy county. The scariest thing up there is Walmart. Now whenever we have to go there, it's not Germantown, it's Gerrrmantown.[DOUBLEPOST=1433347207,1433347144][/DOUBLEPOST]

There will be a mod for that in no time, I'm sure.

... you'll just have to pay for it now.

I felt Bethesda got the aesthetics of the DC metro stations spot-on though.
This is true. I love comparing the DC metro and the New York subway systems since they're the two I use most. In DC, the outside looks really nice, then you go down below and its grandiose, but dirty as hell. Then the trains come by and they're actually really nice. It's weird.

You go to New York, what you see is what you get. Dirty outside, dirty inside, dirty cars, smell of burnt garbage in the air.

I know that Bethesda would never suck up their pride and actually get guys like Avellone and Cain and Sawyer involved, so I'm just gonna be grumpy and cynical about it.

Yeah, Microsoft usually snags a month or so exclusiveness on each DLC from Bethesda. I'm surprised Bethesda didn't learn their lesson with Skyrim, where they explicitly released Hearthfire (the house building DLC) so they wouldn't have to make the final DLC timed exclusive.

There better also be a Dunkin' Donuts on every street corner, too. I know some places where I can stand in the doorway of one and see 3 others.

Is that the one you have to use the stylus to tap their panties for some unfathomable reason?[DOUBLEPOST=1433369630,1433369629][/DOUBLEPOST]

Not sure, but that sounds more like a Senran Kagura kind of thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1433375532][/DOUBLEPOST]
