Starters and cover legendaries revealed for Pokemon Sun and Moon:

The water starter looks bad, but I like these legendaries more than any others in the series.

From what I understand Disney won't be publishing stuff anymore, so I would guess any licensing they do to developers is still fine (Kingdom Hearts, for example). It just means self-published things like Infinity are done.

I stopped caring about catching them all last gen, so even though there have been free legendaries every month so far this year, I haven't bothered. I don't know if we're missing much.
In terms of gameplay, I suppose not, especially if you mainly play single-player, like I do. I have plenty of Pokemon who would pwn in-game trainers as well as Hoopa would.

In terms of wanting to catch them all though... I have a hole in my Pokedex and I'd like to fill it.

That came out wrong.

It's called a Cloyster. Use a Water Stone on a Shelder and there you go.

Disney is cancelling the Infinity game and figure lines, and will also apparently be halting their video game publishing.

e: Found an article.
The current rumor is that Disney is ether entering into a partnership or out-right buying a major game studio to handle this sort of thing. It's exactly what happened before the Marvel buy-out: Disney drops all of their "boys stuff" like Power Rangers (which they were embarrassed to help produce and run because of how "violent" it was and how little control they had over the Japanese side) then buys out a company that specialized in producing that content.

Oddly enough, the rumors really only point to two candidates: Nintendo and Sony. Nintendo is doing poorly financially because they can't move their hardware outside of the 3DS and they have the same sort of "brand" that Disney has... not to mention the stable of characters they'd have to make content with. Sony owns the Mario movie rights ATM, so you'd need a Spider-man style deal on that end. As for Sony... Sony has made it clear that it wants to get out of the Playstation business for awhile, but can't find anyone who could pony up what it's worth that would be interested. Disney could certainly pay that price.

Could you imagine a future Smash Bros. if Disney bought Nintendo?
Sora or Riku from Kingdom Hearts would be a huge selling point for me. Less so for someone like Mickey... though Mickey/Donald/Goofy as an assist would be fun. Really, a lot of Disney guys would be cool assists...

I've said before, a Kingdom Hearts movie would've been a hit for Disney.

I have a hard time believing Disney is poised to take over either Nintendo or Sony, but I would've said the same about Marvel if that had been a rumor I heard before it happened. Kinda hoping it's neither though.

There actually were plans for a Kingdom Hearts animated series, but they got nixed when it was decided they'd rather release each story as an entire chunk instead of risking cancellation partway through. Of course, that was before it took... what, 10 years to get KH3?

As for Sony... Disney wouldn't be buying SONY, they'd be buying the Sony Pictures and Sony Playstation divisions. Again, Sony wants out of both ventures but has invested SO MUCH that cutting and running would be suicide.

Don't say Elsa, Elsa doesn't count.
Technically, Elsa's a queen, so you're right. ;)

I was kinda surprised by the announcement, but now that you guys mentioned buying out (or partnering with) another pre-existing system, I could see it. I'm sure there was some kind of "hypothetical" discussion when they were working on Wreck-It Ralph. But Disney owning the rights to the Nintendo catalogue? That would be amazing and terrifying at the same time.

My personal stance is what gets KH3 released already!

I'm not sure I like the idea of "Civ playable in one sitting". It depends on how it's implemented, of course, and I'll defintely buy Civ VI once it's out, in the Steam Christmas Sale or so :p, but...Will it be dumbed down even further? Flashier, time limited terms? Less decisions? Hard cap on time spent? Smaller maps? Faster advancement? Wait and see.

I'm sure single player won't change much in that regard, but a shorter multiplayer mode is definitely welcome.

Let's hope so. I'm....cautiously optimistic. I quite liked Civ V, though mostly only after the expansions. A lot of fans hated some of the decisions they made, so I'm curious which way they're going. Combined arms might be a good balance between murderstacks and one unit per tile, for example; cities stretching several times might be great or horrible depending on the implementation, and so on.

This is part of what I really like about Fallen Enchantress... it's civ, until one stack of units moves into another stack of units, and then it's Fire Emblem.

OH thank god its not that stupid Sherlock Holmes cross over that won't have Phoenix in it. Well I'm just going to do a quick search and see if I can't be even MORE hyped-
*quick search*
HOLY SHIT MAYA'S IN IT! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YES!

Last couple summers have been dead for me. So then this summer ...

June 21, No Man's Sky.
June 28, Zero Time Dilemma.
July 15, Monster Hunter Generations
And then Persona 5 and SMTIV: Apocalypse both slated for quarter 3 sometime.

Nope, not gonna have the money for all that right away. Monster Hunter takes priority, rent No Man's Sky and maybe buy later, we'll see with the others.

I'm cautiously optimistic about No Man's Sky, I genuinely wonder if it'll be able to pull off all it's promised so far, but I hope it will.

I have no doubt it can pull it off. My concern whether all that wonder will become predictable and boring after a few hours, or if it'll be a game that rewards continued exploration with more interesting and impressive discoveries.
