Video Game News and Miscellany

Before this, most of the complaints were about the high system requirements, but when they decided they weren't going to include Denovo DRM and suddenly more people were interested in playing the game.

I just think the art design looks really uninspired, but I see now it's made by Krafton, and all their games look like that. Their insistence on using AI (and thus requiring a nvidia graphics card to use their proprietary ai system) is also kinda ew. But I'm sure it'll have its fans

The zombified corpse of Bleem is being used by Piko Interactive to raise money on Kickstarter. They want to start a DRM-fee online store for selling ROMs. Some people think they've got a spotty past, especially a history of pushing NFTs.

Other people have a better opinion on Piko Interactive, since they've done a lot of work to make some old niche games available again. Titles they've re-released include: Wisdom Tree's Super 3D Noah's Ark, Glover, The Immortal, Radical Rex, and Jim Power The Lost Dimension. They're even selling physical cartridges for old systems.

Not sure what to make of their plans to launch a new storefront.

I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I tell you.

Wait...no I'm not.

Anbernic Just Stopped U.S. Shipments

"Due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States starting today. We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our U.S. warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence.

I'm glad I got my new orders in just under the deadline

I just learned about it 15 minutes ago because the "making of" came up as a YouTube suggestion.

"Oh, cool, they're remastering...wait, it's out NOW???!!!"

Installing it now.
It's been rumored for a bit and last week there were some leaks that suggested it was gonna drop same day as announcement but other than a splash page with a date that showed up yesterday, there was nothing official to suggest they were making it, let alone it would drop same day so don't feel too under the rock with this one.

Subnautica 2 Dev Vlog - Road to Early Access

A glimpse at some of the environments, flora, fauna, vehicles etc currently under development for Subnautica 2. I don't think there are any spoilers in here, and anyway it's still early in the development process so anything shown here might not end up in the final build, but nonetheless I understand some people may be sensitive to spoilers.

Also it once again confirms that the game will have co-op.
