What, no Pokemon Go thread?

All popped up within a minute of each other, six spawns, NOTHING that I needed....
My wife said she was too tired to go with me to the grocery store. She was mad when I sent her this pic..

Maybe they should fix that catching pokemon is HARDER the higher level you become instead of easier. Honestly, this is stupid basic game design.
It's just a poorly-received Anti-Grinding mechanic. Just imagine that they're the level 1 bandits in your run-of-the-mill Bethesda game, and now they have glass armor for no good reason.
Leveling requiring so fucking much xp does just fine. You shouldn't level 4-5 a day and then all of a sudden level once in a week. It's silly and poorly set up, and to top it off with making catching things harder is more frustrating than fun, and fun should be where it is at
AFAIK only nidoran comes in boy and girl varieties.
And the regular bandits suddenly having dragon armor is mimicked by finding cp250 pidgeys. A cp10 pidgey should really be an easy 1-throw catch at level 20, not a 6-ball madness which he ends up running from anyway.

Funny you should say that; I ran into this guy while we were visiting family on Long Island. He found such a nice spot to hang out!

Last night I headed into Red Bank for a brief Pokewalk, but what I didn't realize is that it was free movie night in the park. And they were showing Jaws! Even more perfect, because the park is surrounded by Pokestops.
For visual reference, the movie screen is located in the circle path and I'm watching from a rear wall seat.
But the funny part is that in the past, I've caught water-types, but never fish there, and last night while I was watching Jaws, 9 Magikarp and 1 Goldeen popped up! Or, to put it another way-

I don't know about you guys, but I have been enjoying "Pokemon: Only Drowzee Exists on Earth Go"

I currently have 31 Drowzees and 8 Hypnos. Drowzees are just slightly rarer than Pidgeys or Spearows, but more common than Weedle or Caterpie, that's for sure. Also, I need to do some clean-up on those 
And man, my GF keeps getting great spawns whenever she's out alone. She caught a Blastoise and a Dragonair today :'(

Sounds like where I live. There's some others (Drowzees are not rare), but those 3 are very dominant.
Why so many Pidgeys??

I've never even seen a Drowzee, but I've got plenty of Weedles.
Caught my first Psyduck today. Off an incense, no less. That makes 92/92 out of 151 in the pokedex.

I never wanted this, you know. I was just a 16 year old kid, never even heard of a Pokemon, just wanted a summer job at Toys R Us. Then they were all "hey, we're starting this Pokemon card league every Saturday, someone has to run it. You wanna?" Sure...ok? Whats a Pokemon? Nevermind that, take this gym leader kit and starter deck and learn stuff. So that turned into an every Saturday thing for over 4 years. The local paper came out to cover it. "Oh here," said Nintendo, have an entire box of Mew cards to give away at an event." When I wasn't gym leadering, I was the supervisor of the video game department. "Oh, here" said Nintendo, "have a copy of Pokemon Red with 100 Mews on it" - Mew was quite popular at the time. After that, it was "Happy Birthday Pikachu." Then "Surf Pikachu"...so many goddamn Pikachu.
But you know, it was a fun community then - you met a lot of people (including a woman that tried to cheat on her husband with me in the guise of helping out on 9/11 I shit you not) - and you meet a lot of people now. And its still a fun community. This game was definitely aimed at us older nerds to begin with by starting with the original 151. And while I'm not "the very best that no one ever was" I'm having a blast.
tl;dr - OK, I'm a nerd and I dont care
EDIT - I didn't, btw...
I still remember installing a Gameboy emulator on one of the computers at school, and a bunch of us high school guys playing the original Pokemon Red on it as a collaborative effort. There was an intense debate on what we should evolve our Eevee into. One guy was adamant that Jolteon was absolutely necessary if we wanted to succeed in the game.
