Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Why? Because of that restriction on the pots and pans you hafta use.
For me ideal's always gonna be a combination range (gas top, elec convec oven).

I don't think the restriction matters so much. It does mean we have to replace all our pots, but that's not a huge deal, because most of our pots are cheap shit we got when we were broke college kids.

I made an offer on a house.

They indicated they accepted it.

I signed all the paperwork, and my agent sent it to them.

They backed out.

We are hit with a heat wave this week ( 36 °C, 96,8 °F) and I can't express how glad I am to have a working electric fan in my apartment. Even though it only circulate the warm air.

However, why the fuck couldn't the weather be like this two weeks ago during my two weeks off from work?
Number one: the weather was really shitty back than and number two: my office don't have AC ( only an electric fan).

Forgot that I worked at 9:30 this morning, not 11a (which is actually tomorrow's schedule).
Oh, I made it in time and everything, I just wish I'd realized it before I stayed up last night until 2:30a.

--Patrick

Well nah, you're saying that nobody else's weather counts because yours is hotter. It's a subtle difference.
This. Your reaction to my having the AC broken during what was a public health emergency over here made you look like a bit of an asshole.

And considering how much reporting on the heat wave was going on, you had to have known that was happening.

A tooth that was already crumbling just completely broke off. It doesn't hurt (yet) and no blood, so I'm just going to do a salt water rinse every couple of hours until time for bed.

Unless @Terrik thinks I should do something else? Um... number 5? Right side maxillary first premolar.

So l'll preface everything I'm going to say with get thee to a dentist.

Well diagnosing something I can't see, while also still being a student is probably grossly negligent, when you say it broke off, you mean the crown of the tooth is just--gone? Have you had any work on that tooth before? Was it a restoration that maybe broke off? Have you had a root canal treatment on that tooth before?

What needs to happen also depends on whether what happens is more like this:

In which case, you can get it restored (and if you have the tooth piece, that makes it even easier). Here, the crown fractured some enamel and dentin but the pulp chamber remained unexposed.

Or did something more like this happen:

Where your pulp was exposed.

If this is what happened, and your pulp is still vital, they'll probably do a direct pulp capping to protect the rest of the pulp and give you a restoration. That means they'll place some medication on your pulp so that it stays nice and healthy--coincidentally the sooner you take care of that the better. If your tooth fractured and exposed the pulp, yet no bleeding or pain is occurring, then it is entirely possible that your pulp is necrotic (i.e. diseased and functionally dead), and the dentist is going to send you to an Endodontist for a root canal treatment. Now the fact that you're not in pain makes it less of an emergency---we define dental emergencies as situations where the patient is experiencing pain that affects their day to day lives, swelling, and/or fever. That being said,
a necrotic pulp is something you're going to want to take care of. You can get disease below your tooth in your gums and bone if not taken care of. Also, having a missing crown is going to mess up your bite a bit and cause wear on the opposing teeth.

Rinsing to try to keep your mouth clean is fine, but getting it checked out asap is a good idea.

Necrotic pulp is a good description. The tooth was already in poor condition mainly due to lack of funds for proper care, even with insurance. What was left snapped off pretty much at the gum line.

It’s a Saturday, so there’s not a lot I can do for now. I’ll do the rinse through the weekend end then see about going to the university dental clinic Monday morning.

I can't keep focused on work this morning. I stayed up too late last night, which isn't helping. Also doesn't help that right now what I'm "working on" is more like studying (well, it literally is studying for an upcoming certification exam) and it is pretty dry stuff. I mean, I know I need to do it, but with everything on my mind right now, I sure wish I had some more real work to do.... but I've already completed everything they were going to give me to do this week that didn't get pushed back due to client sites not being ready.

I mean, there's worse things in the world than being paid to sit and read, but I'm happier doing the actual job.

It's probably the mental illness talking (it can screw with libido), but I am having some seriously inappropriate and distracting thoughts re:a family friend.

Got me to a dentist: part deux. Tooth needs to be cut out, as there's nothing left to get a grip on to pull. Go back next Wednesday morning. Hell of a way to start my weekend.

For now he's got me on a course of antibiotics to take care of an abscess.

Had to walk 5 miles to work today because I forgot to call ahead.
It's a whine because I started less than half a mile from work to begin with, and if I'd just called ahead, I wouldn't have had to walk two miles only to find out I was going to have to walk all the way back.
Also carrying a lunch pail and Thermos for that distance is not fun when you have to hold it juuuuust far enough away from your body so you aren't smacking their corners into your leg with every step.

I had my first pain procedure with the new doctor today. I was super stressed out about whether or not he would sedate me, but he did. Thank god. I had a terrible experience at the other hospital.

They made a mess of my hand trying to get the IV in. All my old infusions and other IVs have made a mess of my veins I guess.

The procedure itself hurt horribly when he did the injection which means he was in the right place so I think it went well.

There was a crying and screeching baby at my favorite restaurant this week. The parents did little to calm the child, so the child just kept screaming. When the waitress brought out the food, the baby calmed down a bit. Then it seemed like she was jealous that others were eating and got a little fussy. So to calm things down the dad shoved the high chair the baby was in backwards about two feet. Of course the baby screamed.

I just said in a loud conversational deadpan tone, "WELL THAT HELPED."

The dad did drag the baby back up to the table and continued to ignore her.

I am a little worried how this guy is going to handle the terrible twos if he is already borderline abusing this kid.
