Nothing wrong with this man. It’s been almost four years since we lost our Old Man Pug and there are still times that I will tear up thinking about him. They’re only with us for a limited time, but stay with us for so much longer.Thank you for those words Emrys.
It's been two months since Lucky left us and we still cry once in a while. We miss him dearly.
That was our pet rule too, but it only lasted until I saw a cat I refused to not get, and TBH he doesn't give two shits that our house is messy. Also helps that he's very consistent with his litter box and such.We can't get a cat until our son learns how to keep his room clean.
It's been almost 7 years now...

On the foot scale at the cowboy boot store I should wear a 10EE but my feet only fit into larger shoes. When was the last time you had your foot measured?
Our turn should be coming Thu night/Fri morning. We are almost 36 hours into a 48-hour snow storm. Even though there is far more snow now than our last storm, there is far less ice involved. So at least it's lots of fluffy snow we have to shovel/plow, but our work keeps getting covered up. We've already had to do the driveway/front porch/back desk twice. Bleah.
Last year my employer required all employees to enroll in a "my wellness" online program that requires us to log in weekly and swear to do good health related things, or suffer an increase in monthly insurance fees.
Today they announced we're also going to have to take a urine or swab test to be tested for nicotine, and anyone found to be a smoker will either have to undergo a quitting program or, again, face a monthly fee in the form of an insurance premium.
Even though I don't smoke, this is the dumbest goddamn thing I've ever seen, and offends me at a moral level
I used to work for a company that had a strict "no tobacco" policy. You could literally be fired if you were found to be using any tobacco product at all, even on your own time. How is that any of your employer’s business? I can understand insurance companies rating certain clients (although I don’t think work provided insurance can do that can they?)
I’m with you, it’s offensive.
It varies from state to state, to be fair."Legal"
"At-will employer""Legal"
I will again refer you to the episode of Tales from the Darkside -- "Bigalow's Last Smoke,"It varies from state to state, to be fair.
This was yesterday:That was our pet rule too, but it only lasted until I saw a cat I refused to not get, and TBH he doesn't give two shits that our house is messy.
Mine did that a couple of years ago. :I told the HR lady, and I quote, "Fuck you. Charge me the $20."Last year my employer required all employees to enroll in a "my wellness" online program that requires us to log in weekly and swear to do good health related things, or suffer an increase in monthly insurance fees.

"I'll give you to the end of the weekend. Monday morning, we're getting a dumpster and a shovel. Anything left over when you get home Monday afternoon you better take as a blessing."
I see the term a lot. I will have to look it up."At-will employer"

At-will employment is basically the opposite of contract or union employment. There is no contract, so the employer can fire the employee at any time for any or no reason (other than a very short, explicit list of reasons which would make the termination unlawful). Supposedly the "up side" to this is that the employee can also quit at any time for any reason with no legal/contractual repercussions, but it's not exactly much of a balance.I see the term a lot. I will have to look it up.
