[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

TIL that Dropbox notices when I take WoW screenshots and asks if I want to upload them as soon as I take them. Weird, and creepy.

I wish mine would do this. I could find them easier.

Like the following that happened to me the other day. I was flying from point a to point b. Instead of the normal flight route the griffon went completely in a straight line. Through mountains, under the ground, whatever. It was faster and kinda cool, but freaky.

I'd link the picture, but it's on my home PC and not my Dropbox.

So I wonder if in the future when they decide to further simplify the game they will have a character get weapon/armor ilvl upgrades like we use on followers instead of finding random gear...You increase your ilvl by 3, congrats!! ;)

Yeah I don't know if you guys have hopped into LFR yet, but it is beyond brain-dead. I figured with the new loot setup and lack of Tier that it would be easy, but holy shit you barely have to try. I might actually look for some late-night raiding, because it's really kind of sad.

I heard those bosses are just as brain dead on normal though
I dunno, I haven't tried them past LFR yet. From the videos I've watched Butcher is pretty much Patchwerk 2.0, Kargath requires a little thought due to the Chain Pull (LFR auto-pulls a balanced group of 5, otherwise he takes the 5 closest PCs), and Brackenspore actually has interesting mechanics.

In LFR, Kargath's Tiger Pits are closed, he picks a balanced 5 for the stands, and does very little damage to the tanks. Butcher's stacking bleed doesn't ever seem to reach 5 (where it insta-kills), and Brackenspore's adds are almost ignorable.

Trade chat was calling Kargath free loot, but I didn't bother trying to join any raids in raid finder because I didn't want to have to actually join voice chat with a pug.

Kargath and Butcher are free loot. I think we three-shotted each of them on normal with 5 pugs, including a tank and all three healers. People started dropping before we could push further.

It's weird. Feels like a total reversal for me. I used to like dungeons because they felt easier, less wiping, and overall faster. Now dungeons, more so heroics, feel rather punishing and long while LFR was exactly where I would want dungeon tuning and speed to be. I will probably end up doing LFR more then dungeons at this rate.

I hear a lot of bitching about heroics, but I'm not seeing it. Then again I'm always queuing as tank or healer so I have at least some control over how things go. I've had a few heroics where I bailed after 3 or 4 wipes of people dying to the same shit over and over, but not many.

I feel like Heroics were rough at first, but now that the first gear ceiling's been shattered they're getting a lot easier. Still need to get Croman and Leeroy, though, haven't gotten around to that.

They got rid of most smart heals, you can't just spam and win really anymore. Though that was more of a MoP affectation than Cata. I used to think I didn't healing mods (a long ass time ago) then I started using them and OMFG.

Ehhhh, I'm not happy with the way they are doing it. It's just encouraging cash for gold. If you could trade gold to a vendor for game time I'd be all for it. I don't like this.

The way EVE does it is better, but then they have an actual working economy.
When I first started eve, I bought PLEX for the express purpose of getting isk fast.

Once I got a Caldari Navy Raven, and set up some trade routes making missiles and such, things reversed for me and I never bought PLEX again.

You know there are some things in the game I just don't understand.

Yesterday I did the Garrison mission that ended with me gaining the fun item "Sargerai Disguise", which just makes me look like I am wearing the Sargerai Draenei outfit. For some odd reason though, it's not a "Toy" and instead takes up room in my bags. I thought maybe it was because it acts like the quest item that lead up to it, and allowed me to walk around the Sargerai mobs without aggro, but nope, using it didn't change any of my status with the mobs. So why is it not a toy? What is the reason?

Also, what is up with reputation follower costs? I get honored with a faction and can buy a follower contract, but they cost 4000+ gold. What the hell does Vindicator Heluun do that I can't get for free from a weekly Inn search? What the hell? At least make him automatically epic rather then rare if you are going to charge just as much as a mount. I won't even be able to use him again come next expansion, but at least I can use a mount any time I want. It's just ludicrous.

It's the little things like that I just try to wonder what they were thinking when they made those choices.

The Garrisons really suck the money out of you, don't they? I came in to the x-pac with about 40k gold. I'm down to 15k across 6 toons.

2 garrisons to level 3... My main Paladin was reduced to literally 3 gold after upgrading the most important buildings. That was going into the expansion with about 6k gold on him, and I've actually leeched 3k gold off my Death Knight. I guess when he hits 100, he's SOL :p

It's not so bad as long as you don't go nuts with a ton of characters.

For the most part I have focused on my main, only getting base level 1 buildings on alts. As of now combining my treasure missions, regular missions, salvage, materials, and JC daily quest, I can pull in over 1k gold a day easy without even really doing anything.

I've done pretty well with gold, which is a first. Running two or three old dungeons (usually BoT and BR Depths, sometimes ICC) gets upwards of 1.5k or more if you actually sell everything, and Darkmoon cards are going for 300-1kg on the Horde AH on WRA. I generally float around 6-8k most days.

Looks like I need to start making Darkmoon Cards on my inscriptionist. Unfortunately, she's on a PVE server and my other two mains are on a PVP, so I can't mail between them.

Even the cheap ones still go for 200-300, and they're only 10 War Paints per card. If you're not saving to make a weapon there's nothing to really use the Paints on otherwise.
