WoW faction change

Now that you can level by running AV all day, there's no one left in Outland anymore. Or even in the lower levels or Northrend.

Why bother questing when you can rack up the XP, honor, and marks just hanging around the battlemaster instead of wandering all over creation?

Storyline, gold reserves, gear, speed?[/QUOTE]

With a new player maybe. But for alt 3, 4, or 5, no.

ETA you can always rack up the PvP gear and go back and one-shot your way through the quests you left behind... with the skills of a 70+ instead of a 60.

Oh I'm aware of that, but for me Lore+End Game Raiding > PVP.

If I wanted to PVP I'd do it on a game specifically tailored for it like WAR or Team Fortress 2. On the other hand, Battlegrounds I find more than enough to satisfy any bloodlusts I get in WoW.
Even PvE guild wise there are far, far more accomplished raiding guilds hordewise on PvP servers for whatever reason.

Alts?
Storyline maybe not?
Leveling: From 60-80 I made over 6kg in just quests and selling rewards to vendors. Alt or not, that's good funds.
Gear: you're gonna need, a fresh 80 who's been idling in AV for weeks/months is gonna be worthless for any kind of instance runs or raids.
Speed: Why idle for 3+months in AV when you could do 1-80 in a month with a few hours a day?

I understand that Frankie, my point is, on PVE servers, Horde has 1-2 End Game raiding guilds per server vs the 4-5 Alliance. There's just more options, more players to pool from, etc.

The xp at 70+ for winning AV is retarded right now Shego, Druid in my guild got from 73-76 by winning (and losing) a batch of games over like, two days.

It's actually getting nerfed though, thanks to AKF'ers.

73-76 can be done in two days through regular play as well.

It just "seems" faster cause you're not physically there, paying attention.

Yeah, I know how leveling works. :p

She's only doing a couple hours at a time and I guess felt it was easier. I'd rather quest myself anyway.

I was considering the faction change, but right now none of the Alliance races really interest me that much. Horde has been my calling for a long time after burning myself out on the Alliance in Beta, when I played a human rogue. I just found Horde to be a overall better side, the Alliance had a lot of jerks.

That is not much of the case anymore, Blood Elves brought in a fair share of asshats, but I remain pretty loyal. As much as I hate the elitist nature of my server, they get the job done. Horde owns Wintergrasp 80% of the day.

I might transfer one character that I rarely play over as something to sort of get away now and then and try something new, but I don't even know what I would make it, Draenei and Night Elves are the only races that really interest me anymore on that side of the fence.

This is pretty much how I see Horde, except I don't honestly know how mature/not they are on my server.

One of the things that I used to complain about was the disparity between Alliance cities and Horde cities. Alliance have such beautifully constructed cities while the Horde have Undercity and Thunderbluff, etc. Then I started playing a dwarf paladin alt and realized that yeah, Ironforge is a really nice looking city, but every frickin vendor is tucked away somewhere inside a building and up or down 2 flights of stairs. Give me TB any day.

The amount of times I have fallen off Thunder Bluff through sheer inattention makes me really REALLY hate that city. Alot.

Thunderbluff is my favorite city. Mostly because the anvil is right near the bank. Makes my engineer's life so much easier. Nothing worse then running all the way to the anvil in Orgrimmar and realizing you left something back at the bank or need to buy a mat in the AH. Ugh.

Secondly...it's not dirt :D

Fuck that noise. I jsut let it idle and afk av at work on my laptop. went 72-80 in about 3 days. I just got my old banned warrior back somehow, and I am going to get that bastard up in av 60-80. Use all the honor for 80 gear or a shit ton of gems to sell for cash.

At this point, they are trying to milk as much money as they want. I was never a huge fan of having toons on both factions as the amount of tardation available to the masses of the mundane is unfathomable. Words cannot describe the asshats I dealt with in PVP/PVE who switched over on lvl 1 alts. In previous games such as DAOC, I loved the fact you can only create toons from your faction as the other factions were closed off to you unless you deleted all you existing characters. I missed that.

As far as the game goes, with another expansion in the air... was the last expansion really worth it anyways? Ontop of the 15$ a month, I just don't see why people should pay another 60$ for more content that will tide them over for a few weeks. I heard they didn't even setup the raid to fight Arthas yet.

And I agree with Shego. I played Horde, the amount of slim picking on an elite raid guild was noticable compared to alliance. The race/faction switch is useful as the recruitment officer. It would have easily push us from #87 US to somewhere close to #50 US at the end of the old expansion.

Some things to note:

My set of Warlord/High Warlord gear changed into Field Marshall/Grand Marshall, BUT the Warlord Graphic was what shows when I wear it. VERY awesome little "artifact".

By switching factions, it acts like you've NEVER done a quest on the Alliance side (if it's Alliance only) so ex: I had done ALL the Horde quests in Nagrand, and my Mag'har reputation was revered, so the only way to gain rep with them anymore was to farm necklaces slowly. When I faction changed, the "rep" changed to Kuranei faction, and since I had done "no quests" with them, I was easily able to get exalted with just a few quests. So it's a bit of a "cheat" to get max reputation with certain factions.

When I was on Horde, the newly released Wintersaber mount equivelant was released. The Venomhide Ravansaur. This mount only required 20days of 1 daily each day. It was relatively easy to get. When I faction changed, all faction specific mounts are changed to their most close "sister" mount. So I got a Wintersaber in exchange!

Bad news. I was going through the Argent Tournament questline, 2 cities away from Crusader when I did the faction switch. For some reason, it completely reset the entire quest line for me and I have to start all over again from the first city. So 5 cities, 5days of dailies each... another month till Crusader. :eek:rly:

All in all, I'm really enjoying all the attention I'm getting for being a "Field Marshal" Draenei. If you get the signficance of that,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll be sure to hurry up and get my Mag'har rep up in case they patch something in to take care of that. I was dreading finishing out the re grind with those stupid necklaces!

It works for ANY major "Faction Only" rep too. Wish I had know, I might have cheated a few more reps before hopping.

Oh yeah. I'll be getting the Ambassador title pretty easily :D

I also got to keep my little Alliance only Sprite Darter pet and all of the Northrend flight paths seem to be unlocked even though this particular character has never set foot in Northrend. :batman:

So now I'm a Blood Elf Champion with a Sprite Darter. Pretty cool.

You faction changed INTO a Blood Elf?

That's some fuck right there.
I never understood all the Blood Elf hate. Makes no sense to me.

Orcs look like they need to wear rage cages when they're on Lock mounts and even worse in robes so they're out. Undead need to find a proper tailor and just generally look ridiculous. So they're out too. Not to mention I was exalted with Darnassus which transfers over to undercity so all my work on that would have been pointless.

Once Cat rolls around I'll change into a Goblin but I figure I've got about a year till then and shit needs to get done.

Just an FYI, but the Sprite Darter has not been Alliance-Only for awhile now. While you still get a quest to get it as Alliance, Horde can now get it through farming the Sprite Darter NPCs in Feralas. My friend got his in like 15 kills recently, I have just been to lazy to go over there to get mine.

The Blood Elf hate was always ridiculous: "Horde doesn't need a pretty race" "Horde doesn't need elves" blah blah blah.

The Horde DIDN'T need a pretty race. It goes against the whole dynamic that had been set up between the Horde and Alliance.

Yes, the entire clash between the Horde and the Alliance has nothing to do with the old demon invasion, cultural differences, territory. It's all about who's the pretty faction.

Coming with Cataclysm: Miss Azeroth Beauty Pageant, a new 10 vs 10 lvl 80-85 battleground.

The Horde has been willing to take anybody who will fight with them regardless of looks. It's the Alliance who's been judging races as evil. That one douchebag knight in Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne is the reason the blood elves went with Illidan. "They are inhuuuuuuman."

It wasn't what he said; it was how he said it!

Seriously, if you play the game and see how the blood elves under this human knight are treated. Watch the opening to this video: .

The Alliance are Assholes.

Oh I know, I actually just finished up Frozen Throne again yesterday. I'm just pointing out the ridiculousness of his statement.

That being said, Kael was a fucking idiot in FT. Leaving the Alliance was probably the best choice, but voluntarily hooking up with demons just to feed your fix was a stupid move and not the best choice in the long run for the Blood Elves.

I can't wait for the fucking havoc Garrosh is set to fucking unleash in Cataclysm. The complete deforestation of Ashenvale plus the destruction of Southshore fucking rules. And Horde loses what? Fucking Crossroads? HA HA HA HA HA!
