What are you playing?

Missed the sale deadline for SoSE: Rebellion, but decided to pick up Trinity for $20 anyway. It's a fun game... I still suck at RT4X games, but it's fun none the less. Individual games are a bit long, though.
Yeah, it's rare I get done with a SoSE game in under 5 hours.

Currently: Theme Hospital
Hah, I remember playing the demo of that way back in the day... making sure I had enough seating and treating "bloaty head."

I really loved SoSE but I lost my disc I think. Maybe I should repurchase it on Steam. Although I dunno if I can still do marathon games like that. Mind you, I play Civ for ... ever.

So far I've lost my Lillipup, Summer, to a Team Plasma Bide. It was disheartening. My current team is Oshawatt, Pansear, two Patrats (ugh) and a Woobat.

Finally bought my first truck. Upgraded engine. It's a beast but the handling leaves to be desired. Actually losing control on some turns. Nothing bad happened though, minor bumps.

Just bought new tires, going to bed now. Hopefully that helps.

Any of these upgrade options worth a damn? I see how much they are going for but other than the engine, they ain't telling me shit of what they do.

The 6x4 chassis will help a lot on the handling but you probably won't qualify for a few levels yet. I haven't bothered with the tires. The engine lets you accelerate faster with heavy loads, naturally.

Picked up The Secret World and managed to get two keys so the girlfriend is playing too. I like it so far, very thematic world and the skill based leveling is cool.

Basically everyone I know that has played TSW loves it. The problem is getting people to actually try it.

Fuck yeah Secret World.

Look up Shinzyme on Arcadia sometime. And if you aren't playing on Arcadia, why the hell not? It's the best server.

It actually doesn't matter if he plays on Arcadia. The Secret World has cross-server playability. If you want to play with someone on a different server, you can just send them a message, join their party, and then you'll be transferred to their server for the duration of your play session (or until you switch back).

So it really doesn't matter which server you start on, unless you want to RP with random folks in London (in which case you DO want to start on Arcadia).

They sell expansions, as well as aesthetic items
Basically this. The $30 price is to keep spammers and gold farmers out, but you get quite a bit of game just from that default payment. Only two more content packages have been released since going B2P (they call them Issues, like City of Heroes) and you got the first one free if you signed up before January 2013. You also get a free month of premium when you buy the game, which gives you access to said content for free for your first 30 days. Going premium gets you rewards (a unique costume piece each month) and free points to spend in the Item Store, among other things (like the aforementioned content access).

The also make money from the normal F2P stuff like pets, costume items, XP/AP Boosters, and such. Most of the stuff you can buy in the item store is unique to the store, though a few of the older costume pieces are recolors. For instance, the blue poncho you can buy is the same as the green one you get for free if you do all the missions required in Blue Mountain.

They also get a cut of the merchandise from the WeLoveFine store, which sells exclusive TSW clothes and such. You also get free stuff depending on how much you buy. Buying one shirt/item gets you an in-game title, buying two gets you an in-game shirt.

So really they are doing pretty well with their sales and the game is usually on sale if you look on Steam. Buying from Steam gets you a cat pet that boosts your stats in the early game and a ring that gives you more XP during the early game, as well as a Steam t-shirt. Buying the physical box from Amazon gets you a suite of useful (and balanced) starting weapons, faction related leather jackets, and a raven pet.

You could play for 6-8 months solid without spending a thing. That's a steal for $30.
Plus you get a bunch of free points for the store ANYWAY just be reaching a certain amount of XP in the game for the first time. They are ether crazy or seriously know what they are doing.

Gimmie free version!
I can send you a free 72-hour thing, if you want it. Just send me a PM with your email. But that's the best I can do.

I REALLY hope it doesn't go completely F2P though. The entry gate keeps the community pretty civil. I don't want a bunch of idiots running around, ruining shit like they ruin every other F2P game.

Lego Batman 2

Oh my god you guys. I love this game. It's just so absolutely silly in every possible definition.

Also, you can play as Superman, fly around Gotham, with the classic John Williams theme playing the whole time.

THIS WILL NEVER GET OLD FOR ME.

I got Dishonored back.

:sohappy:

I did the first mission, got high chaos. My wife said, "Do it again and do it properly this time."

Okay, not killing anyone is doable (though killing is tempting), but ghost? Fuck, it's hard to not be detected. I never tried before, but their judgment criteria is brutal. The guards can't even suspect your ass is skulking around or it's a mark against you.

Bought Fire Emblem Awakening. This is gonna kick Shadow Dragon's ass, but they are not fucking around, I can see. In casual mode, your units are gone for only that battle if they run out of HP and you can save anytime. In what I call the Real mode, can't save anytime and death is death. They won't even let you cheat death with constant saves like XCOM--if you're going to play for keeps, Nintendo wants you to mean it. And speaking of XCOM, when I started, I kept moving my guys behind boxes and buildings, and it took me a couple units' movements to realize I didn't need to keep my soldiers behind cover. :D

I've been playing Little Inferno, and it is so much fun. Burn ALL of the things! There is a really twisted sense of humor to this game. It's a lot like World of Goo, but even darker.

World of Warcraft - Going through the motions weekly, getting my 4 level 90s geared and ready for the shit to hit the fan in 5.4.
Awesomenauts - Trying desperately to break the top 1000 leaderboards and rank up my Prestige.
Diablo 3 - Finally getting around to playing this from start to finish, 100% for the story.
