Tinwhistler (almost typed that as Twinwhistler... which is an ENTIRELY different subject), decent groupings... what were you firing? .38?
Smith and Wesson 9mm SD9VE fired at 30 feet. Just got it recently. Solid gun, one of their cheaper models. Hell of a trigger (long action, 8lb pull or so), so it took me a couple shots to get used to it. You can get an inexpensive kit to make the trigger a little more friendly, and I'll probably be looking into doing that soon.
I wish there were gun ranges around here that I could shoot a gun. Canada's much more strict on that sort of thing, as far as I know. I've never shot a gun. Always wanted to experience it, at least for research since I write about a gun-toting mad armadillo.
If you ever make it down thisaway (heck, it's only a 9 hour drive heh) I'll take you out to the range, my treat

Huh! Looks like there are, in fact, shooting ranges in New Brunswick. I've already inquired about one that's just outside of town. It's a clay & trap shooting range, but I asked if they dealt with handguns or know who might.

Come down to Florida. I've got lots of guns (well, not a lot by southern standards, but I have a few) and rural property where we can shoot without disturbing anyone.
I did better than the reviewer i linked to, at least..he said he was hosed after 50 rds. I didn't get fatigued enough to affect my aim until 100. I credit all those fingertip pushups I did in my younger days
At least it's not the crazy 10.5 pull required to make it legal under Maryland law. I suppose they only want Real Men™ shooting guns up there.

A story my stepmother tells about how once in her med school they posted results on the board, and she was upset that she got a B instead of an A or something... the guy at the bottom of the list said, "Why get worked up? They call the person at the top of the class the Valedictorian. You know what they call the guy at the bottom of the graduating class? .... 'Doctor.'" That conversation really bugged her. Made me chuckle.
On my friend's first day of med school, he heard more or less the very same thing from his professor. "What do you call the doctor who got the worst mark in his class? Doctor." Inspiring, really.
