What are you playing?

I'm right with you there. I didn't get to really dig into New Vegas before Skyrim came out, and sadly I just can't muster enthusiasm. Each time I try to play New Vegas, barely 10 minutes pass before I realize I could be playing Skyrim instead and enjoying it more. It's too bad.
Skyrim's engine wasn't perfect but so much better than the Fallout's. I don't understand why I can't get on board with this but the constant crashing and lack of performance is so glaring it takes me straight out of the immersion I used to feel back in Fallout 3.

I'm due to get my hands on Skyrim's Legendary Edition but at $60, it's insane. I wonder how much and every DLC tallies up to. $45? Maybe at X-Mas.

I'll mod the shit out of that game.

That's funny. I think Nick hit what I disliked about city right on the head. I loved the planning involved in Asylum. City felt like so much "ah just drop in and do your best" when it came to fighting groups. And the Riddler stuff? Yeah, totally not committed to pursuing those like I was in Asylum.

I found it tedious at times, too, but honestly, I found it easy just to grab a few on the way to a story mission. Like I'll pass by a sign to scan or a trophy to nab and I'll just get it quick on the way.

Speaking of the Batman games, for anyone who hasn't played Asylum or City, they're both part of the Humble WB Games Bundle right now.

MMM.... you sure? Not sure if I can trust one of Joker's henchmen...
That's stereotyping is what that is!

I tested Arkham City, and Windows Live is gone. It's icon is missing on the main menu, old saves don't work and hitting the home button on the controller no longer brings up the Windows Live menu.

I have not tested Arkham Asylum yet, because I had the non-GOTY version installed, and that version didn't get updated. I'm downloading the GOTY now, and I'll be able to report for certain in a little under an hour. I can't imagine it having GFWL on it, because it does have Steamworks now, even to the point of having achievements.

Okay, Arkham Asylum GOTY tested, and found to be free of GFWL.

These 2 are my favorite comic-based games period.I melted with glee from every cameo and appearance in Asylum and City.
Xmen Origins: Wolverine was a surprisingly good game, particularly because the movie was so abysmal. It was fun as hell clawing up enemies. It's very heavily inspired by the Arkham games, but with bloody death instead of knocking people out.

As for Origins, I gave up on it to just go back and play City. Combat is so much better in City, and I can actually grapple on pretty much any ledge.

Since bhamv was kind enough to gift me his spare copy of Arkham City GOTY, I've recently started replaying it as well.

It's still so good.

Favourite superhero game, bar none, Spider-man 2, almost exclusively for the web swinging mechanics. I beat that game when I rented it and then bought it just to swing around digital New York some more. Almost every other Spider-man game since then has cocked web swinging up something fierce.

Since what they did to remove GFWL is basically give me the GOTY edition (I just uninstalled the non-GOTY edition), I've lost my save game but that just gives me a good excuse to play it again.

I have many fond nostalgic memories of inserting many quarters into this thing. It was this game that cemented Nightcrawler's status as my favorite X-man.

Of course. GFWL had to dick your saves to death ONE LAST TIME on its way out.

If you still have the files, there are ways to convert the save file. Involves some HEX editing, or using a program, but various sources say it's possible.

Wanna know what super hero game occupied the most of my childhood life?

You knew you were in for some shit, because the cartridge was RED! The only other red cart I had was DOOM.

I never did beat this damn game. It was hard as fuck.

A friend of mine can beat it without losing a life. It's...inhuman.

I am very much enjoying F.E.A.R. 2, which I got through the Humble Bundle, no matter what the critics said about it.

Critics generally liked Fear 2. It was Fthreear they didn't.
The competitive co-op campaign for FEAR 3 was actually pretty fun and a fun way to blow through an afternoon. But yeah... it was pretty weak, even if it felt more like horror than Fear 1 or 2.
