I went ahead and bought this one, which is a first for me. How does this work? Do I get CD keys so I can put the games on Steam or what?

You should be able to link your Humble Bumble account with your Steam account. It should do all the work for you. And you can gift each one to someone else if you already own it. I gifted Monoco to our old friend General Fuzzy McBitty - who I don't think even comes around Halforums anymore.

I got the email and followed the instructions, man, I have to say, that is really well executed. I doubt I will ever donate a lot when I get this, but I can't believe I haven't been doing this all the damn time.

I bought the Humble Bundle 11 this morning and after taking my money the website 403'd on me. So, I know from the receipt in my email that they got my money but it never went further than that. Kind of a bummer since the average is WAY higher now than when I paid. Hopefully it can get sorted, still waiting on a response from them.
Did you contact someone at HB about it?

Man so I don't know about that "Dust" game from the Humble Bundle. The reviews in the video act like it's this piece of platformer art, to me its ok. Also it's got sort of a furry thing going....

My video card is what kills it almost every time. It's a 128mb, but the minimum requirement is 512mb.
You might be able to increase the memory allotment in the BIOS, but while this may make some games playable, it probably won't make them more responsive. The mobo mfrs often had an option of adding 128MB of sideport memory for some configurations, but 128MB was the max limit.

I recommend turning up the difficulty, it's a bit easy on normal.

What I find really amazing about Dust is that it was made by a single person.

Going over that list, I was struck... man... Ubisoft has published so much GARBAGE over the years.

Also, I see they're still using deceptive box art for the Settlers series in North America.

Hmm... nothing there's cheap enough for me to want it. Most of the stuff's only 35% off, Assassin's Creed 4 isn't on sale at all.

Far Cry 3 and the Splinter Cell games are interesting me, but at these prices? I already have enough to play, thanks.

I wanted to like Far Cry 3, I really did. But it's Just. So. Console. How did the crysis engine fall so far?

The amazing characters made up for it. Far Cry 3 is exactly how gaming acting should hold itself as a standard.
That part was great. I liked the story, the acting, the weapon unlock methods, the skill progression.... but the hobbled graphics engine and bad controls drove me away before I could finish it. It was a real disappointment that a very enjoyable experience was being filtered through a smudgy, shaky, blurry mess with LOD that kicked in at 50 feet even on maximum settings.

Everything there's either still more expensive than it's been in the past, I already own it, it's garbage, or it's still burdened with UPlay. Pass.

I picked up World in Conflict. It's one of the better RTS I played back in the day and it's nice to have again.

So if you've been putting off getting a nintendo handheld and looking for an excuse, apparently if you buy a 3DS, 2DS or XL and register it in march, you'll get a free download code for either Pokemon X or Y. If you're one of those guys into the pokey mans.

Definitely a good deal for anyone getting a new one, but I have a feeling most of us with 3DS's who are into Pokemon already have the game.

I also own or have owned 4 of the 6 games listed, so ... not really into getting Yoshi's New Island right now either. Saving my eshop creds for Kirby and Super Smash Bros.

As someone that already owns Pokemon Y, I wouldn't mind owning Pokemon X, but that's because I'm -that- kind of person...

GOG has two simultaneous sales going on. One for a bunch of fairly new indies and the like, mostly 25% and some 50% off - I think I own all the interesting ones through HumbleBundle, but anyway, if you're waiting for one, it might be there.
The other one's a whole bunch of slightly older games or indies at -80% and -90% - and if you don't like the selection, you can add semi-random games from a hidden list of games (Saint Patrick's Day Leprechauns giving you pots of gold....) for $2 each. T hey mostly seem to be $9.99 games, so at "only" an 80% discount, but still - check it out. If you want to buy one or two of the games on the list, you can fill out the order to 5 with "randoms" and get lucky.

My problem with the payday series is that it assumes a municipality has an unlimited number of suicidal law enforcement officers, each of which will happily throw themselves into automatic weapons fire no matter how many of their colleagues have been chewed up by the meatgrinder before them. I know it's supposed to make you concentrate on stealth but it really just breaks my suspension of disbelief and I can't continue.

Just imagine you're in the movie Heat, in that one scene....then it all makes sense.

edit: Also, if its a matter of suspension of disbelief, I would probably have that broken when I take a bullet and survive. And pretty much every game I have ever played violates that rule, with the notable exception of Insurgency, Red Orchestra series, and Arma

That's why I said suspension of disbelief, and not "realism." I know certain things are accepted, and have to be, for there to be a game. Note I'm not griping that the cops will trade a captured criminal for a hostage, despite how mindblowingly "never gonna happen" that is. That I can deal with... but kamikazi patrolmen trying to swarm the bankrobbers in a battle of attrition just don't fly, for me.

I don't really see the difference. Suspension of disbelief, immersion, and realism are all intimately tied together in my mind. Well....realism goes out the window a bit in a sci-fi or fantasy setting, while maintaining immersion, but this isn't one of those. Anyways, the only alternative to the swarming cops problem is to have the cops so dangerous that a few of them could kill you, which would require RO/Arma style damage modeling, which most people would hate. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't feel very realistic. But I don't think to much about that because it also feels so amazing. I feel like such a badass. Playing Overkill/Hard mode may remove some of what you are talking about though. It's so intense that you don't have a lot of time to think about whether you are immersed.

My friends and I have basically decided to not play Payday 2 again until they fix stealth. It used to be that stealth rewarded you for having your shit together and knowing the maps. Now stealth is a cluster fuck of invincible cameras, bodies you can't hide without spending money, and RESPAWNING GUARDS. The respawning guards are what killed it for us... without being able to count on being able to eliminate guards from patrolling, it's utterly impossible to stealth some jobs now. Worse, Joker is worthless now because dominated guards still have their pagers go off... so it's not worth not killing a guard now.

Combined with the ever increasing difficulty of Overkill (and Overkill is the only way to get a decent pay out...) and we've kind of said hell with it. It's not the game we bought anymore and we're not enjoying it.

I didn't say there was a way to fix it.

What I said was analogous to "I don't like to play soccer because my feet hurt." There is not really a way to "fix" soccer such that it does not make my feet hurt without it ceasing to be soccer.

Overkill doesn't want you nor your friends to 'control' certain heists. They don't want you to kill all the guards and wait for success 10 minutes later. They want you to actively stealth throughout the heist if you wish to stealth. Is this agreeable with everyone? No. But it's what it is. Most heists were too EASY and this was necessary. Now, if there are 7 guards on the map, they want you to kill up to 4 when shit goes bad and deal with it. There's always a minimum amount of guards and if you can't stealth a map with 3 guards... you don't deserve to stealth. Kindly note, only certain maps have respawning guards.

The last patch they provided us with a free heist (which is exceptional btw) that leads to different outcomes depending on how you perform Day 1. I like it.... a lot. Titan Cams are a feature on the hardest difficulties, not because Overkill wan to piss in your corn flakes but simply for those who are exceptional, who are willing to play on the hardest difficulties, should be plenty able to handle them. I'm short of 2 heists of completing my Deathwish rounds.

All in all, stealth is broken but still workable. Some heists are admitting ridiculous to stealth but stlll possible. The way I look at this is simple. If the game isn't appealing to the majority of the gamers playing it, they should make changes.... and they have but they won't do everything you wish. No more Titan cams? No thanks, Ghosts can control them. Not have unlimited body bags when trying to stealth? Too bad. Everyone gets 1, Ghosts get 2. Pay some in-game currency to get access to 3 more. All in all, you get from 7 to 11 body bags. More than enough to stealth, for those worthy of stealthiness. Respawning guards? Yes please. It's not about control anymore. Deal with it.

I agree Joker is broken. They made some changes and I bet there will be more. It's not good enough.

Lastly, Overkill difficulty has been scaled down somewhat since Patch 24 and in fact, quite easy compared to Deathwish.

For a game I paid on release day for 20$, it's worth every penny.

As it is currently designed, stealthing GO Bank would be impossible due to being unable to deal with random civs. Before it was difficult if you got unlucky and GENSEC sent guards without giving you a chance for the code (You'd need to joker a guy, convert, than get another guy joker before the call came). It was impossible if you got the spawner from the toilets AND GENSEC. Fighting it out was doable (and I've done it many times on overkill) but if that happened then you'd have to kiss some achievements goodbye. I know we're eventually getting the ability to move civs without bagging them but I can only comment on the game right now, not 6 months from now.

It's impossible to stealth Train Job (and it was a fucking crap shoot without a full team of stealthers with joker and convert before), which was the ONLY way to get all the ammo crates out. Even with the ability to move civilians, the guards will still always see the drills and call them in. It's also possible for the entire thing to go tits up if you get a cop in one of the cars. Random chance spawns should not pagers. I shouldn't have my entire heist turn into a fire fight because a dice roll says it should. It should only be because I wasn't good enough.

As for the changes... a whole lot of the community was on them IMMEDIATELY for the changes to Stealth. Is it more balanced now? Cleaner is and Smooth talker is getting removed for being DUMB. Titan cameras are neat, but the skill required to hack them shouldn't be a tier 6, it should be tied into the ECM skills. Civ moving should have been in at launch and it's more vital than ever now that bags are limited. But that doesn't change the fact that they've fundamentally changed how the game plays and a large portion of the community aren't happy with the changes. Will we get something better eventually? Of course. But right now it's kind of fucked.
