Games on SALE!

Just coming in to post about this. Civ 5 and all DLC for $15?!? AND YOU GET FUCKING PIRATES AS WELL?!?!?

I'm in an awkward position where I own Civ5 and one of the expansions, as well as a handful of the extra civilizations. I've been waiting for the other expansion to go on sale for less than 10 bucks on Steam.

And now for 15 bucks, I can get the other expansion, as well as a bunch of other stuff. Decisions, decisions...

Less thinking more deciding.

How annoying is the drm for these games? Is it just steam, or will I have to deal with some worse system?

Wishing for the days when all humble bundle games were drm free...
Best I can tell, the only DRM on Civ 5 is Steam only. Civilization 4 and Pirates! may also use SecuROM, but that's only listed by the GamersGate listings, which are not Steam versions.

You can't. When you buy this bundle if you already own something you can't gift it. I tried.
I gave two of them away earlier, so I'm 100% sure you can gift parts of these.

Also, why the sudden interest? Everybody got me on ignore or something? I posted bout this bundle 3 days ago /emo

The email blast from Humble Bundle went out yesterday, so even if you missed it in the thread, you got a reminder from them.

I know, I saw the mail too. I'm just surprised there's a reaction to this now, while the "base" bundle has been on sale for a week, and was posted then, too. :p

Pirates! is a $5 game, the DLCs added with the mail were the two "scrambled" map packs - which aren't very impressive. The two "big" DLCs were already there originally, and everybody knows they always add a bit more after a week or so. Pirates! was obvious, I was hoping (though I already own it) they'd have added Colonization as the other beat-the-average game.

Original Dungeon Keeper is free until Sunday on GOG.
More games on sale, Dungeon Keeper 2 is 90% off within that sale.

Maannn.. I own both of those on disk already. But maybe the gogified/dosbox version of 1 will perform better.

edit- heh, apparently there's a waiting list for DK now.

But I notice they've got 30 games on 90% off for VDay... including UT2k4 ECE, The ROTT remake, and Guacamelee gold edition.

I just picked up The Witcher using nothing but the money I got from selling cards during the last Steam sale.

I'll get around to installing it when I'm done with Skyrim. Which should be a very, very long time from now.

Dammit all, my netbook won't even play most of those games.....but it's still too tempting to get them...

*sigh* Okay, $5 for all of them it is. My Steam library will be amazing once I get a solid gaming computer.

Guacamelee alone should probably make the outlay worthwhile, and I'm pretty sure your netbook will be able to handle it (it's a 2D metroidvania platformer)

That's what I thought, but not according to Can You Run It. My video card is what kills it almost every time. It's a 128mb, but the minimum requirement is 512mb.

I can't even play Rogue Legacy smoothly. Played it for the first time the other day. It runs, but SLOWLY, like how the old Mega Man games used to run if there were too many enemies on the screen at the same time.

Hrm. Yyyyyeah if you have issues with Rogue Legacy... maybe not so much Guacamelee then.

Most netbooks, especially older ones, can't even do 2D very well. Mine chugged sometimes even playing Plants Vs Zombies. I can't even use it to play video on Hulu (though Youtube works up to 480p, and VLC can handle SD video, or even custom re-encodes to match the screens 1024x600 screen.).

I suppose it depends on the netbook. I've worked on some that could do 2d/720p very well. But yeah, if they're still using the old Intel 900 series onboard graphics, I can see how it might be a problem.

I just bought Guacamelee on GOG as it was at -80%. Probably a deliberate choice of theirs. Darn. Now I'm torn on this bundle - it's nice, but count Guacamelee out of it and it's not really worth it to go and beat the average...I'll wait 'till the other games are announced this time around, even though the "average" is always higher after that.

I bought the Humble Bundle 11 this morning and after taking my money the website 403'd on me. So, I know from the receipt in my email that they got my money but it never went further than that. Kind of a bummer since the average is WAY higher now than when I paid. Hopefully it can get sorted, still waiting on a response from them.
