Games on SALE!

HL Episode 3 is free to download for the next 10 minutes. Then it disappears forever.
The first chapter was astounding. I'm in part 2 now and trying to download the final act of the game, but it seems to be slowing down...

I'm curious why it's so slow too, though. Today's sales aren't that special.

First chapter? Do you mean Half-Life, Half-Life 2, or Half-Life 2: Episode 1?

Ah, Steam's back. I shall assume the downtime was due to everyone rushing to buy Just Cause 2.
Eh. Civ V finally had the Gold Upgrade down 75% so I bought that...Brave New World is still only at -66% so too expensive.
I was tempted by the flash sale for Orcs Must Die 2, only to go and double check and find out I already owned it through a Humble Bundle. Ah well.

I got the Firaxis Pack over at Amazon instead. $15 gets you Civ 5 Gold, Civ 4 Complete, and X-Com: Enemy Unknown. I'll probably get Brave New World sometime, but that price just can't be beat.

They also have Bully: Scholarship Edition, Manhunt, Manhunt 2, and Midnight Club 2 as a pack for $8.

Seriously, check the Amazon digital deals. They've been beating the crap out of the Holiday Sale.

Perhaps. But a) I don't want yet another digital platform, b) Amazon is finicky between .com, .de. .fr, .co.uk, etc NOT having the same inventory, and c) I already own ev erything else from that deal :p

The holiday sale's not been a big one for me. Most of the things that had the good deals I already owned. But then, when I think about it, there's really not all that much left that I want. When Skyrim Legendary and Saints Row 4 goes under 10 bucks, yeah, but apart from that... meh.

Of course, that's saying AFTER somebody else got me Kerbal Space Program, which was probably my most anticipated grab. It never came down to $10, but turns out it didn't have to.

And so far it has not disappointed. So addicting.

Yeah, for this sale, all I got was the Director's Cut of Deus Ex Human Revolution. I already got Skyrim from the sale a month earlier, and I have a pretty hefty backlog to play already, so that might've contributed to me not buying much.

The main temptations for me in this sale were Dishonored, Saints Row 4, and a few others. But I have enough to play now, I can wait for them to drop even further.

Everything I linked redeems on Steam. Most of Amazon's digital games redeem on Steam.

I avoided buying a couple of things I wanted this Steam sale so I could make the next Steam sale better by there actually being things I want to buy.

I almost bought Deadpool, just cause it was 10 bucks. Then Activision went and let all it's Marvel licenses lapse and so all those Spider-Man, X-Men and that Deadpool game they published are now dust digitally (unless you already owned them).

The Deadpool game isn't terrible. It's merely mediocre. Which, for a comic licensed game that doesn't have Arkham in the title is better than most.

Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics were removed from digital stores today, as Interplay's deal to sell them is over. Bethesda now has full rights and is working to get them back up on Steam. No word on GOG though.

You can still download them if you owned them though.

Humble Bundle X

- To the Moon
- Joe Danger 2: The Movie
- Papo & Yo
- Runner2

Beat the average to get:
- Reus
- Surgeon Simulator 2013

Of these I've only played Papo & Yo, and I loved that game a tremendous amount. It is beautiful storytelling and I really enjoyed it.

Oooo... Reus and Surgeon Simulator are both tempting.

Pity I'm on a tight budget now. :(

EDIT: After I whined about having a budget, @Bubble181 gifted me the bundle. I would like to publicly thank Bubble for his generosity, and acknowledge that he is an awesome, awesome individual who I would like to mate with.

...dammit, why can't people ever keep quiet about getting stuff procreation? :p

Hey, I recently learned Armenians celebrate Christmas on January 6th, so....Merry Armenian Christmas? Or something?

We call it Ukranian Christmas here (because we have a huge Ukranian population in Alberta) but I think it's just supposed to be called Orthodox Christmas.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is on sale for $19.99 on both 3DS and Wii U until February 3rd.

I don't play it much on 3DS, but I'm tempted to get it for Wii U at that price. I'd be more inclined to play with the multi-player hunts and could still take it with me elsewhere if I wanted to farm resources.
