Midway through season 6 of Parks and Rec..
aaaand Leslie's back to being a manipulative powder-keg bitch again with the added bonus of the hypocrisy of someone who filibustered to "protect democracy/enfranchisement" then repeatedly, manipulatively attempts to power abuse with Ben now being City Manager. What a shame. Had a couple of seasons of character growth, but in a stressful situation, she's back to being the obsessive, blinkered, psychotic control freak she was in season 4. At least Chris and Ann are finally beyond her sphere of influence in a better town where they can raise their kid and have their happily ever after.

Speaking of which, I'm mystified how quickly after the recall Leslie fell back into her "Pawnee is the best city on earth how could anyone possibly stand to live anywhere else and if you disagree I'll tear your throat out with my bare teeth" routine. The "Pee Pee Head" speech had me thinking she was finally waking up to what a shithole Pawnee, Indiana really is, but I don't think I've ever met a man with as much blind, frothing devotion to a sports team as Leslie Knope has for a garbage dump of a company town that done her so wrong.

Everybody else is pretty awesome though. I'm liking Tom's continuing character development, Ron's lack thereof, and, of course, Andy's dumbassery. I've even managed to warm up to April as she's demonstrated there's an agile intellect under all that sullen teen slouching.

Gravity Falls is off to a good start. It looks like there may be more of a focus this season on getting into the meat of the show's mythos and mysteries.
I do believe this is the case, if only because it feels like it got a second season by the skin of it's teeth.

Gruncle Stan dropping the act and showing how he's lived in Gravity Falls so long was amazing. First he starts killing zombies with a baseball bat... but then he loses the bat, pulls out the brass knuckles from his stash, and just start wailing on them. He really is Mr. Mystery.

Bout freakin time. I hope we get more than 8 episodes this season.

Ooh! Gravity Falls is back on? Now the dilemma is whether to watch it as each episode comes out, or wait till the end of the season and marathon it like I did the previous episodes.

It is. They've already shown the first episode on Disney Channel, but this new season is going to be shown on Disney XD. They'll be showing the first episode of the season along with the next one tonight.

Gravity Falls is looking great this season, I can not wait to see Bill Cipher again. I would also like to again say how hilarious it is seeing Nick Offerman playing a government agent with literally no sense of humor.

The Awesomes: Loving it, could be funnier but the story is really good...but is it worth having to watch something on Hulu? Does that stupid "Press escape to exit fullscreen" go away in the plus version? I forget.

Just saw the latest episode of Gravity Falls. Yep, looks like we're getting a greater emphasis this season on the mysteries, with tonight's new episode kicked off by Dipper and the team investigating a possible hiding place of the author of the journals. Some good action in this episode, along with a definitely creepy monster in the form of a shape-shifter.

Also, this was a good Wendy episode. We got to see her be a badass in fighting the monster, along with her and Dipper finally talking about his crush on her, with the two agreeing to just be friends. Nicely handles their relationship and deals with getting the "will they or won't they" from Dipper out of the way.

Agreed, Wendy went up like THREE levels in terms of character in this ep for bad-assery and real-talk alone.

THEORIES TIME: The "F" laptop belongs/doesn't belong to Fiddleford H. McGucket(possible misdirection), and Stan's real name is Stanley and isn't the twins great uncle but their grampa. Though the McGucket thing is hardly a theory, we all saw the youtube thing.

Fiddleford McGucket is the prevailing figure in that regard, considering his inventive nature and the fact that his hand is bandaged up in a way that we don't know if he is six-fingered or not.

There is one thing that grabs my attention, personally. The shape-shifter had commented that "the six-fingered nerd hasn't been himself". This may be a stretch, but I think there may have been some body-switching from the carpet in Carpet Diem, leaving the author in potentially another body.

Also, regarding Stan, I personally subscribed to the twin theory, which is that Stan had a twin brother and that he's taken over his brother's identity ever since he disappeared.

Agreed on the twin theory, and I personally think Grunkle/Grandpa Stan is scanning the uni/multiverse looking for his twin brother through that portal kajigger.

Didn't think of the mind switching carpet though, that leads to SO many possibilities.

That shouldn't be showing up at all. It's kind of wonky though if you're using any sort of addons. I kind of have to watch Hulu on my IE because it's the only one I don't have additional ad block add ons installed. On firefox even with ad block disabled, I still have problems with Hulu.

The Awesomes was pretty good. In a similar vein to archer, the characters are goofy yet competent. I really like that mix. Same thing with Rusty Venture. He's a dick but he's clearly a capable scientist.

Arrow

Liking it so far. Seems to be based on the immediate post-Crisis run (around 86) with the lethal force and lack of trick arrows.

Think it was that yeah, took off all the unnecessary stuff and it works fine.

As I said at the last Selfie trailer, I'm willing to give it a shot, so long as he doesn't suddenly realize he's "become accustomed to her face."

Anyone see the Boondocks finale? If ya didn't...yeah it wasn't even close to the season 3 finale. And if what I can tell from the production codes, the one that WAS made last didn't seem like a good finale either. I liked this season and all, but Macgruder's absence is pretty prevalent as this season didn't really seem to have the same spark. I wouldn't mind as much if not for the fact that this was the final FUCKING season. And OF COURSE this wasn't the season to introduce freaking Caesar. Well, at least their's Black Jesus...

Caesar was in that episode they went back home because Grandad's friend died and Huey's part had to deal with the fact that his friend basically abandoned him because he wasn't around anymore.

That was Cairo, different guy. Plus Caesar is from BROOKLYN!!!
I guess they kept him out to aid in making Huey a loner, but they always bounced so well off each other in the comics.

John Benjamin is currently my thought voice, think that means I've been watching too much Archer. Loved that Bob's Burgers reference, freakin' awesome.

So, I've been suffering through the last season of True Blood because I'm a filthy masochist.

and they kill the only redeeming factor the show had, Violet. God damn it. The only thing that bums me out more is how fucking terrible that whole Tara storyline turned out. That was the weakest, most terrible shit. This last season man....it's like Dexter bad.
