Well, that's not entirely true. It was a huge dip in quality when Wendys took over. They stopped doing a lot of the actual donut making fresh in the stores.

Maybe I should upload my copy of "A Polish Vampire in Burbank" and see if I can get it added to that list.
My mother and grandmother worked for them a long time, even getting on good terms with the guy who owned and operated all the locations in the Columbus, Ohio area. When he started expanding into Rax places, my grandmother got a ton of stock for investing in the new venture. Then the marketing guys fucked up Rax by alienating the working class people who made it successful, converting most of the places in Hardee's and selling most of the rest to Wendy's to turn into Tim Horton's. This made the stock absolutely worthless and basically ruined my grandmother's retirement plans.
You can still find a couple of Rax places in Ohio and Indiana. It's kind of like having Arby's, if Arby's was locally run and sourced. Food's excellent if you like roast beef sandwiches.

For awhile I think Heff's son was running things and he kind of ran it into the ground (though internet porn helped), so now it's swung back in the other direction and going mainly articles. This isn't surprising, especially if Heff's back in charge: for a long time Playboy paid writers the most per a word and many well known authors have written some excellent stuff for them.

Cucumber Lime Gatorade is soooo good. I am going to make some home-made cucumber lime concoction this weekend. Maybe I'll add some fresh mint. Or I'll do a seltzer type version. Yum!
