Heh. I would never commit to office hours or I would set them at the most inconvenient time (Mon 8-9 or Fri 4-5). I just told them to email me if they had questions, but I wouldn't answer emails after 7 pm. I wasn't a very nice TA, but I got good reviews!

I can provide homebrewed beer! I've got about twenty bottles of an IPA I made a couple months ago that I'm trying to go through before it loses its hoppiness.

We make some pretty bad-ass whiskey, too. Beat Scotland's finest in a blind taste test over in Europe.

(And I say "we", even though I live in Virginia now. Born and raised in Texas, and spent 40 years there. As the saying goes: you can take the cowboy out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of the cowboy.)

I just found an electronics part store in Houston on Fondren. It's awesomely old school. Difficult to navigate, full of racks, new stuff, pulls, salvage, and a makerspace. I may not be at @stienman 's level, but I do alright, and this is a fun place to get lost. Cheaper than RadioShack, more expensive than online, but more fun, too.

Mom got the cat boxes cleaned and the dehumidifier emptied yesterday. May not sound like much, but that's a big step in her reclaiming her independence. A little bit closer from moving from walker to cane.
