OK! Final map of the previous server: Link

Final flat map of the old server: Link

When I get some time I'll try to add them into the FAQ section, and my first post. Maybe tomorrow during lunch I'll get a bit of time. I'd also like to do a final fancy google map type render of it too.

So, the new map! I'm on the island on the far left. That little bit to the far right? That's what happens when you try to place a portal in the nether to get home and you forget whether there were negatives in your coords or not...

@Dei I spent a whole lot of time at spawn last night just producing resources for the chest at spawn. There should be at least half a stack of nether wart, some wheat, and potatoes as well. I did have carrots at one point, but before I could get back to the hut I got creeper jumped and lost them. :(

I didn't get around to the village as I wanted to hear if people wanted a trading type village at spawn or another iron farm. Which I have one vote for a trading village. I was kinda thinking of making an iron titan, but that might be a little too insane for the size of the server, unless people wanted to use iron as decorating block =)

@Eriol - The breakthrough technique still works for the nether topside bedrock as well as any down below bedrock. Though that trick is usually used on less scrupulous servers that like doing that trick on unsuspecting people.

My vote is do what you think would be the most fun for you. :)

Muwahahahahahahahaaaa...... I just saw on the map that there is at least two witch huts near Dave-land. I just need to find a spot where to plop down first and I'll get to working. I just kinda wish that I could get on with more than just myself on the server, but that is the price of living on a island in the middle of nowhere.

Assuming nothing unfortunate happens to him, I have one lone villager right now, who will take coal and iron for emeralds and will take 12 emeralds for a sharpness II diamond sword. I am waiting to hunt down a 2nd zombie villager before I really build out my village.

Good day for me today. Nether portal (connected to the passage that envelops spawn), brewing, carrots & pumpkins planted, and got some horses! There's a spare horse if anybody has a saddle and needs one.

I also have about half of my land fenced. Probably the other half tomorrow. We'll see. I didn't claim small. ;)

I have not bothered to officially claim land because I am nominally alone on my island of clay. I did manage to convert a bunch of zombie villagers and make a fenced in area for them.

What with the new map, I discovered I'm on an island, so that seems like an easy enough border to claim. We'll see what happens once I exhaust what's under there.

I. Have. COOOOOOWS!

Took forever to get the fuckers back to my place but they are there and doing the bovine horizontal mamba to make me more leather.

Considering the "negative reaction" that Notch had to the idea of making Minecraft a WinRT/Windows Store App, I'll believe it when I see it.

Two billion dollars can buy someone a new opinion, though.

...yay! My first contribution to this thread! And I've never even played Minecraft!

Oh, I know they'll probably work to weasel out of it, but they'll have to get more creative than usual.

Honestly, I doubt they'd do that. If anything, I could see them pulling support for self hosted servers. Basically requiring everything to be hosted on realms.

On a side note, can someone give me the coords for the spawn portal? You'd think I'd know it since I set it, but that would have required foresight.

"They drove a dumptruck full of money up to my front door! I'm not made of stone!!" - Notch/Krusty the Clown
Welp, according to techreport, it was Notch's idea to sell, not microsoft's idea to buy, though they are obviously willing.

http://techreport.com/news/27037/bloomberg-microsoft-in-talks-to-buy-minecraft-studio-for-2b

Reportedly, it was Minecraft creator Marcus "notch" Persson himself who approached Microsoft about a buyout. Microsoft and Mojang AB "quickly agreed on a framework and approximate price and have been working out the details since." The software giant apparently seeks to increase sales of Minecraft and to cash in on "licensing for things like toys and movies."
So, the government of Sweden's about to get a $1 billion plus tax infusion. I bet they're as giddy as anyone.

That's still a report of a report from an unnamed person. I guess we'll see though. I don't blame the guy for wanting to move on.
Indeed. If somebody wanted to buy everything I've ever done or accomplished for $2 Billion, I'd sign before he finished speaking the sentence.
