I just watched the Firefly episode "The Message" where Mal and Zoey's old war buddy ships his "dead" body to them. I had a fridge logic moment.

If the dirty cop wasn't fooled the first time Tracey "died" to throw off his pursuit, why would he believe and stop pursuing when he gets a cursory glance from below at a "shot" Tracey lying "dying" on the catwalk above him for 10 seconds before being ushered back out the door? Why didn't he think it was a rather transparent and desperate attempt to fake Tracey's death again? It's not like a gunshot wound would be hard to fake, especially if it's only seen from afar and below. Why didn't he just go back to his ship and shoot Serenity?

Gravity Falls: THEORY TIME-
Soos' dad is the author, and/or Stan's secret twin brother. That may be a stretch as the big event that made him disapear was in 82 while Soos was born in 1990, but for all we know he didn't really go into the universe portal. Just a theory. Also Grunkle Stan is actually the twin's grand father and took over his brother's life, THEORY TIME OVER!

This weeks Flash was pretty bad. B-plots were good, but the A story was just awful. Especially since they chose to air this on Veterans Day.

Sons of Anarchy managed to take their opening montage to new levels of self parody, involving EVERY SINGLE main cast member in a montage sex scene including prison rape starring Marilyn Manson, all to the tune of Boots of Spanish Leather by Amos Lee & The Forest Rangers.

I am having far more enjoyment reading everyone's complaints about Sons of Anarchy instead of watching it and writing the complaints myself. I might hate-watch the series finale just for the satisfaction of seeing all the characters I hate die.

The above seems WAY meaner than I mean it to come off.

Person Of Interest hit some good notes with the writing last night. In particular, the way that
Harold started to question the amount of destruction they caused to foil Samaritan, and the cost to innocent bystanders. "How much wrong are we willing to do for the sake of what's right?"
It's nice to see a character who is dedicated to a cause still be aware enough to ask if its worth the cost - not to himself, but to people who aren't involved but are still affected by the heroes' actions. Especially when it's unclear if there really was a nefarious purpose involved.

On the other hand,

Gemma's downfall coming by her five year old grandson makes everything worth it, especially the faked abuse angle.

I mean, it's been foreshadowed, so it's not a big twist, but it still perfect. Just hilarious and fitting. That isn't general endorsement of the season, I'm mainly watching it to see it through the end, but it's one part I'm not complaining about.

Me watching latest Regular Show, Well outside of clear character development its a pretty basic episode. Hey, what's with the weird silence?
"And that's Margaret Smith with the news."
HOLY CRAP! THE DAY WE HAVE FEARED/ANTICIPATED HAS COME TO PASS! Well, not as much as when-
she meets Mordecai and them again but still.

Honestly? I like CJ way more anyway. At least she acts like she wants to be around Mordecai, instead of just kind of side-skirting the issue.

EDIT:

Steven Universe -

So Usagi Yojimbo (voiced by Amethyst) and Glenn/Frog (voiced by Pearl) go on an anime adventure with Garnet? Sure, why not.

Best part? When Garnet takes off her power fro and it crashes into the ground like Piccolo's turban in DBZ.

No argument there, plus Mordo did all the real work when he was dating Margaret. With CJ she's clearly shown trying just as hard to impress him as he was to impress her.

You know what's funny, the only believable relationship on the show is between Tig and Walton Goggins.

So apparently they're bringing back Heroes.
This was always being thrown around. I wouldn't be surprised if they did, considering the cliffhanger it ended on. Besides... super heroes have more than proven their marketability again, so maybe this time it'll get the budget it needs to actually do something COOL.

Aaand Grimm.... what to say? Good as usual. Monster of the week was a little different from the usual fare, though it used themes I'd seen before in other works a number of times, but it was handled well. The plot arc keeps climbing. They really know how to keep you interested.

Best line from the newest Black Dynamite (might be paraphrased).

Black Dynamite : "It'll probably be forever for there to be a real black super hero on the big screen, and when there is it'll probably be a god damned hell spawn."

So, super late to the party, but I finally got around to the last 2 seasons of How I Met Your Mother.

The finale was underwhelming, to say the least.

Ted ending up with Robin in the end was pretty damn lame.

I've been on an MTV kick for a while and now I'm watching Daria , most of its good but a few episodes don't necessarily have plots as they have a string of events supported by quirky dialogue. ALSO- was Tom actually a show ruiner or is that just some people's opinion?

Herman's Head

The trailer for Pixar's new movie, Inside Out, reminded me of this sitcom from the 90s. And of course, it's all on YouTube. Been watching a few episodes. And you know what? It's fun. It's not a great show by any stretch, but it's good for what it is. It has a clever concept and runs with it. Out of curiosity, I watched the finale, and it feels like a natural way to conclude it.

Fox or whoever owns the rights should put the series out on DVD in conjunction with Inside Out.

I didn't mind Tom. I actually liked that he didn't let Daria intimidate him. I really loved the scene where they broke up. When his eyes got big and he said "Wait--" It just always got me, and I admired her for not wanting to settle or simply coast along.

I liked Herman's Head when it was on TV. But the last episode seemed jarring to me. It felt like they had intended to follow up the story with the girl he was on the outs with, but they didn't get renewed, so they just had Herman record a monologue to wrap things up.

Apparently, if they had had a fourth season, they would've introduced a second set of head people inside one of his co-workers. So they'd get her point of view, too. Heddy, I believe (the mean blonde chick).

Anyway, I only jumped right to the finale after watching one other episode. As a standalone finale, I thought it was fine.

I liked Herman's Head back in the day. Early Fox was willing to try new and different things.

To this day, the girl who plays his emotional side still reminds me of the show when I see her in other stuff. Sadly, when I bring it up, very few people seem to remember the show.

STEVEN UNIVERSE

This might be the most disturbing episode since Steven and the Stevens.
True true, BUUUUUUUUUUUUT we did get to see Amethyst do a Spin-dash so that makes up for...a baby watermelon sacrificing itself so its brothers would learn the error of their ways. And then Steven ate some of their watermelon guts while still having a straight somber face. This show continues to bring the creep factor and I LOVE it!

Linda's weird songs on Bob's Burgers always makes me giggle uncontrollably. Not so good when I'm watching on an elliptical machine. My knees buckled and I almost hit my head on the monitor.

"He helps you pee when you've got that thing!" ... *weird, quiet, shaky laughing*

BUT THEN

Girl Meets World

Wait... is Harley the Janitor the same Harley that used to pick on Corey in high school? He just called him baboon like back on Boy Meets World...

If so, I'm impressed because I couldn't even tell it was him.

Yup. He's in two episodes.

This weeks Grimm was pretty good.
Clever use of twins triplets quadruplet wesen in a tropetastic scenario to gaslight a rich heiress as the monster of the week, along with the nudging along of the "should I be a Grimm again" arc which comes to a definite decision. I'm a little disappointed with how much they're having Adalind hold the idiot ball, pretty much everything she's done for 2 episodes now has been to do the exact thing she's been told not to do and never learning from her mistakes... but I'm able to mentally reconcile it as her being under some kind of fancy mind-altering magic state brought on by the cell she's placed in (which was described as being custom made to hold hexenbeists), so the whole thing might have been a hallucination from start to finish made to break her will.
I always look forward to seeing the next episode of this every week.

I... I can barely describe what I just saw in this week's South Park.

It was like a giant penis shaped multi-car pileup in slow motion. I was horrified and laughing for 21 straight minutes. My mindsphincter has been widened by two degrees of magnitude.
