Given Nintendo's history with trying to introduce gameplay mechanics from other genres into Zelda games, it'll be more like Legend of Zelda: We're Making an Open World Game Without Having Paid Attention to What Other Open World Games Have Done....so it's Legend of Zelda: Skyrim?
Majora's Mask had adventure game elements, but gave no indication that the designers had ever played a LucasArts game, or anything in the inventory puzzle type adventure game genre.
Skyward Sword had a crafting system, but showed no indication that the designers had learned from other games with crafting systems.
Nintendo is great at innovation, and pushing the industry in directions that other companies wouldn't think of. However, they're also pretty arrogant in not learning from other company's successes (and failures). I would really like this game to prove me wrong, but I think it's far more likely that there will be many mechanics in this Zelda game that have people frustrated because those same failings have already been found in other games, and fixed in later iterations of the genre.
