[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

Spec means shit unless you are a raider, but it is true that fire's crit dependence makes it the worst spec until you are Mythic geared.

Fire does get that crit perk that stacks every time you fail to crit with Fireball, but yeah crit's just not stacking as high as it used to without Heroic/Mythic gear so it's difficult.

Standing in fire, lol

So, back when I last played wow, I made good dough spending time in the auction house. I actually liked flipping items for profit as much as playing the actual game. The problem was that it took so damn long to scan, research, and post.

Things have gotten so sophisticated these days.

So yep, that's 9400 profit on my AH alt in the last 7 days. And the best part? I'm spending about 15 minutes a day actually doing the work.

You should try EVE Online.

Tin what mods are you using for AH stuff? I'm trying to get my old AH alt back into the flow, and that's some potentially useful info there that Auctioneer doesn't really do.

The fact that I can fuck around on the AH from my phone is basically the only reason I bother. I get super bored playing the economy games.

Yeah the only thing I sell on the AH is the new cards for WoD trinkets. They tend to fluctuate in price like mad, but I can still clear a couple thousand depending on which ones I make.

Auctioneer and Tradeskillmaster. The screen shots are from TSM.

I used the PhatLewts videos for setting up TSM, but xmog is a lot slower moving in WoD than previously, mostly owing to the fact that most of the stuff from salvage crates is high-value xmog gear, diluting the market. I'm making more money flipping BoE greens that aren't on phatlewts lists.

God DAMN, I forgot how much I loved Northrend.
It's like Star Trek movies. Every other area is shit.

Old World: These new designed quests and storylines are pretty fun.

Outland: FUUUUUCK THIIIIS SHIIIIT

Northrend: Ahh, the best expansion.

Cataclysm: bleck.

Pandaria: So pretty!

Yeah, but WoD breaks that pattern. It's probably tied with Wrath for me for best Xpac.

A lot of people hated on MoP, but honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then again, I'm a sucker for lore and the Asian inspired aesthetic and that expansion was all about both.

WoD needs a raid or two on the level of Ulduar before it can match LK (IMHO), but it's close. WoD does a lot of the same things LK did for its time - really, really refine a lot of key aspects of the game while adding some really compelling background content.

So bits and pieces of the upcoming 6.1 PTR are being datamined, and some conversations they found make it sound like

Garona will be released from Gul'Dan's control and become the rumored Legendary follower for your garrison.

The patch is actually much more substantial then I expected. The Garrison specifically is getting a ton of new things.

An item that will generate a new mission.
An item that will instantly complete a mission.
The ability to gain an item that can rush work orders.
New re-training books specific to abilities or traits, rather then both.
An item that can be used to level up a follower.
A Jukebox with collectable music sheets, so that you can change the music that plays in the Garrison.
A new invasion rating with greater rewards, and even the ability to summon raid bosses to the Garrison.

Now I just wish I had more plots.

Ready to get used to your character model again? Because 6.1 adds a rather large amount of further model changes. It actually took me by surprise. Going over them all the two biggest changes were baseline improvements to textures and a huge amount of further tweaking to each "faces" bone structure so each face now feels unique. Hair on some races has also been improved, with the human females regaining their fuller locks rather then the thin strands the new models have currently.

Once I got my first couple of 100s, my interest in the game nose dived. I've done the main storyline quests, and I've found that there's really not that much for someone like me to do. My schedule keeps me from raiding with my horde side guild (face it, Crimson Battalion has had it's day), and I've heard enough horror stories about LFR that I want to stay far, far away from it. Besides, who's raiding on US servers at 6 in the morning anyway? Follower missions? If I'm not raiding, why bother?

I've found other things to do with my off hours. Maybe it's time to let my supscription lapse for a little while.

Horror stories about LFR? I guess if it being a faceroll joke is a horror story. I'd rather do that than get in Vent with strangers though. Personal preference. I am also over dedicating my schedule to video games, so there's that.

LFR this time around is easier then heroic dungeons. It's basically free loot. I have seen half the group wipe on a really bad AOE on Twin Ogron and still end up winning the fight.

So far the only fight I've seen a loss on is Ko'ragh, because it can take forever compared to the usual LFR fare.
Imperator Mar'gok is by far the longest. I was wondering why he had his own LFR wing, but then I fought him and he takes like 15 minutes to take down over 3 phases with little intermediate phases between. Makes a lot more sense now.

Ah, I forgot I did go in for one attempt on him, and it was a wipe at like 15%. We had two backseat drivers trying to shout what people needed to do, and in the last phase they started disagreeing with each other and people started dying to adds.

I don't understand people not knowing mechanics. The dungeon map has clearly laid out guides on what to do for each role, what attacks to look out for. It literally spells out the mechanics for every boss encounter.

Seeing as this is my last week off from school, I'm going to be letting my subscription lapse just for time. I was hoping to get my mage up to 100 before school started, but I'm only at 74 now, and I already have stuff I have to get done for school.

So, I just ran into an amusing yet annoying bug. Zen'kiki, everyone's favorite terrible druid, won't stop killing himself. He has this little routine where he transforms into a moonkin and moonfire spams himself. Previously, this used to take off about 40% of his hp, but now after the stat squish, it kills him every time.

It's getting a little annoying having to keep going back to the mender's stead to get a new Zen because he keeps obliterating himself.

Look what I got...

For those that don't know, Blizzard sent off a surprise gift for fans that have been subscribed to them for nearly the full ten years the game has been active. It's a mini-statue of the larger metal statue they have located in the courtyard of Blizzard HQ.

I only let my account lapse ever for a couple of months and it wasn't good enough.

Actually I don't care, because ew, orc statues.

It's the same statue that's out front of the Irvine office.

Also yeah, you had to have started your account within like 60 days of launch, and apparently it can't have lapsed for very long.
