Random Video Game Crap

Nick, nothing personal, but that video was torment. Watching someone try to yoloswag-lolwut their way through besiege makes me want to claw my face off. Not since Dave's space engineers video that had me screaming "PUSH G!!!!" at the screen have I been as frustrated to be watching a video. This is why I can't watch game grumps, usually.

I enjoy videos like that because I'm terrible at figuring out things just the same. I make a LOT of stupid mistakes. But if it's a game that I've played multiple times and know the ins and outs of? Oh yeah, it's painful to watch a newbie try.

When he said "What is this? A swivel joint? Does anyone know what a swivel joint does?" I massaged my temples while seething "it swivels."

If GTAV took place in England, like GTA2 did...

In my case, it was 540 daggers of paralysis/life drain (1 pt).

Some guy rebuilt the original NES Legend of Zelda in minecraft. Not just the overworld map, but the dungeons too, and the commands to do shit/handle events (though the command blocks weren't enough and he then had to go write HIS OWN SERVER WRAPPER JAR to make it all work).

How do people have so much free time?

Generally I can only tolerate Dan playing NES games, because he's pretty good at them (Punch-Out, Zelda II, etc). Arin sucks at everything and I end up just listening most of the time instead of actually watching.

Arin drives me up the fucking wall. When they were playing Sonic, there was one part where Arin ran around a map level for 45 goddamned minutes because he didn't know where to go - when the directions were given on the first signpost that popped up when you entered the map. But of course the grumps can't be bothered to read anything on screen because gotta go fast and HURR HURR SNORT EEHHHHHRRIN GGLLEEGHH Barry? I'm gonna need 3 shots of that. ECCH. EECCH. (this was back in the Jontron era)

Dude, I look at the videos and crap that you put out, and I wonder how you have so much free time.

--Patrick
That's just because you have no free time :p So mine, or anyone's, appears infinite in comparison. However, I have a more normal amount I think, perhaps more than normal now given that I'm on my own, and yet I can't fathom how much time and effort it would take to do what that guy did.

Soon I'll be invading people's Dark Souls games wearing the Mask of the Father and then crouching on their corpses. :awesome:

But really, this hunter team sucked. It was hilarious afterwards to hear them in disbelief that they lost after all the goofing around I did in the two matches against them.

I ran 3 hours against one of the best teams of hunters I've played against. Every match with either a close win, or close loss. They had their shit together.

Honest Trailers finally gets around to doing everybody's favorite brown cover-based shooter that made sure we got nothing but brown cover-based shooters for the next 10 years.

Though I can see the advantages of having a fully-upgraded move at the start, it does mean you're waiting for that move to cool down and have no others to use in the meantime. I always put at least one point into charge in case I need to get away.

I'm glad you're having close matches. The last few fights I've had were just sad. That dance wasn't all; when I had the team down to just one living hunter, I chased it around not even attacking sometimes, and a toad ended up making the kill.

Though I was proud of this ambush:

I can't believe he thought he could actually out run you.

I've been running into many more groups of organized hunters. I think they're getting the hang of this. Also, since I pretty much exclusively play the monster, I tend to jump on voice chat and actually ask the hunters what kind of monster they'd like to hunt against. I don't really care which I play, although I tend to prefer Goliath if given the choice, and it seems thats one most people like playing against.

As far as maxing a skill right out the gate, I look at this way.

I shouldn't be getting caught at level one anyhow, so the problem of cooldown is moot one I hit level 2 anyhow. However, if I DO get caught, I have something that can rake down a hunter in a short amount of time to try and even the odds. Plus a maxed out skill helps me take down the tougher creeps out there more quickly which helps getting to level 2 faster.. A level 3 rock in the face will nearly wipe out most hunters, and a couple melee swipes afterwards usually does the trick. There have been times where they shield really well, or heal well and it backfires, but it seems to work for me more than it doesn't. Now that I've had the game almost a week now---I'm still as addicted to it as the day I got it.

[DOUBLEPOST=1424446125,1424446002][/DOUBLEPOST]Also:

I was thinking about Wraith---I think one way to balance him out a bit more is to, as you said before, reduce the radius of supernova. I also think that the decoy move should be retolled a bit------keep the decoy, but don't let him do damage and if you attack out of stealth, get a damage boost--classic rogue which is kind of what it seems they were going for anyhow.

Not to reignite the "judging people by their looks" debate, but the kid they arrested in Las Vegas for Swatting (making false calls to the police to get somebody else raided by a swat team, which has been happening a lot to twitch streamers lately) looks pretty much how I thought he'd look.

If convicted, he could get a 5 year wake-up call.

I don't play LoL anymore, but I love this guy's VERY SERIOUS montages. He builds characters in weird ways for their meta and dominates.

Plus, funny skins.

I'm guessing that's a custom skin, because it looks really out of place and lower quality.

Though, while on the subject, I really dislike LoL's new art style. I don't know what it is about it, it just looks... bad to me.

I hate the art revamps on a lot of champs, biggest offender being Janna. At least I have the Forecast Janna skin so I don't have to look at more than the terrible icon.

The art and model revamp on gangplank basically ruined the game for me. I stopped playing and never went back.[DOUBLEPOST=1424536253,1424536110][/DOUBLEPOST]In other news, more Besiege! Everybody's creating awesome mechanized death machines, and I'm just

I also paid a quarter of the price for my PS4 to run all AAA games for the next 5 years without worry about whether or not my rig can run it.

I like PC better, but the argument has lost some weight for me in the past few years where all the major games are coming out on console anyway. Suddenly I feel like I'm paying triple the price for more or less the same stuff, modding excluded.

That's because the console cycle retards the advancement of video gaming.

It's like forcing all your honor students to stay in remedial math.
