Games on SALE!

It's kind of a bitch getting some of these older games to run well, but it's worth it. I mean Jedi Freaking Knight!!!!
They were all available at a discount, with working emulators/patches/additions, in a pack. Gog.com, ladies and gentlemen. They may have changed in some ways, but they still manage to provide legal, safe, official ways to get old games to run on new platforms.

I love his portrayal as a serious actor portraying a serious actor.

Also I am debating whether or not to get the humble deal. I own MM7, my wife owns 1-6 and various HoMM, I might buy 'em just to add 'em to my collection in case I don't have them already, just like paperbacks.

The Steam versions have that too, but many of those games still require fan add ons to work properly.

I feel like I've said this here before, but I still have my original JK2 disc, and it works fine on Windows 7.

Yeah, that still works fine. Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight and it's add ons are the ones that you have to finaggle with a little.

Just Cause 2 for $0.99 is insane, giving no excuse for anyone who doesn't already own it. (FYI, I've been playing it lately and it's a blast.)

I'm surprised we haven't seen a Steam sale yet, honestly. They're about due for one, aren't they?

Summer Sale's due up in what, a month or two? I'm sure it'll see a big gouge in price soon.

The summer sale is going to be ALL MODS!

Yet again a bunch of new games on GOG, and once again, nice discounts.
Darksiders 1 & 2 and their DLC
Saint's Row 2 and 3 with DLC
Metro: Last Light Redux.

I assume most people who want these have them, but...First DRM-free release. Good for back-ups. Also, €4.79 for SR3 Full Package is....cheap.

How good is Civ V? Last Civ game I played was II, but I was addicted to Civ I... since my computer at the time could actually run it...

I think Civ IV ruined me because I honestly didn't like V as much as IV. It has its charm, I guess.

Steam has a demo you can download and try, before you spend the big bucks on it. :p

I like Civ 5, still play it every now and then. Quite different from Civ 4 though. No unit stacking makes it a whole new ballgame.

I like Civ V about as much as Civ IV. Like bhamv says, though, the game just plays a WHOLE lot different (especially with the expansions) than its predecessors. In some ways it's closer to Call to Power. In some ways, it's "toned down"/"simplified". I really do prefer hexes over squares, though, so that helps me :p I also prefer winning non-combatively so I like the various cultural and religious and so on stuff.

Resident Evil Revalations is like 10 bucks too, which is a good deal. Don't get the Resident Evil Revelations 2 deal... it says you get the game for 2.99 but you only get the first episode at that price and the full game is full price. This is an incredibly deceptive deal and Valve should have fucking known better.

Lost Planet for 3 bucks is a good deal, assuming the PC port works well. Lost Planet 3 I have no played. Still wondering why Lost Planet 2 (the best game in the series) doesn't have a PC port.

Chronicles of Mystara is 5.25 and well worth it at that price.

(Personally, I'm tempted to get Dead Rising 2 (66% off) and Remember Me (80% off). Might wait on DR2 for it to go to 75% at a later date, though.)
Remember Me's story isn't as compelling as it needed to be with it's highly generic gameplay... and the most interesting idea present in the game (modifying memories) isn't done enough to justify the long stretches of the game aping the Arkham series's combat with bad camera angles and controls. Basically, I spent 5 dollars to rent it for 5 days and I took it back in 2 because I couldn't give a fuck about it anymore.

Dead Rising 2 though... the main game is a lot of (and Off the Record is a fun, completely irreverent take on the story), but it's also something like 4-5 years old and you aren't getting the DLC at that price. However, if you get the Dead Rising 2 COMPLETE pack, you get Dead Rising 2, Off the Record, AND all the DLC for Off the Record at 66% off. That's not a bad deal if you want to try Off the Record.

Also, why is DR2's DLC not on sale but the Off The Record DLC is? That's... an odd decision.

Humble Bundle's spring sale continues with some pretty good deals:

Sega sale
(Such as Alien Isolation for 75% off, a lot of the Warhammer games for 75% off, Typing of the Dead 75% off, Binary Domain 90% off.)

Deep Silver sale
(Saints Row, Metro Redux, Ryse, and Dead Island all on good deals.)

Rockstar sale
(All Grand Theft Autos minus V on sale, Bully, Manhunt, and Max Payne)

And some individual games, including some pretty good deals:
Shovel Knight - 33% off (tempting for me, but I'll wait and see if another sale brings it down further)
Papers, Please - 70% off (for $2.99, you really should get it if you haven't already)
Octodad- 75% off

I mentioned Stacking to @fade recently, and it's part of a Humble Weekly Bundle, and it's part of the lowest tier, so you can get it for almost nothing (well, $1 if you want a Steam key). I highly recommend this darling little adventure game. The mechanic is a nice hook, and I found the puzzles and humor to be very amusing. The art style is fun, and overall I think it's well worth the time for many gamers to check out.

I'm sure @ThatNickGuy would endorse this bundle, especially with The Blackwell Epiphany as part of the $8 top tier range.

That's great, though Epiphany is the fifth and last installment in the series. Strange that the others aren't included in this bundle, since they've been in other bundles in the past.[DOUBLEPOST=1432244007,1432243944][/DOUBLEPOST]I should also add that I dug The Novelist. It's almost like a Telltale game with tough decisions and a long-term outcome. It's nowhere near as deep or detailed as a Telltale game, but for a short, inoffensive game, I rather enjoyed it. I kinda liked the three different stories being told (among the father, mother, and son).
