What are you playing?

I think the PC port was worth the wait. It looks fantastic. I've played a little bit of the PS4 version on a friend's system and it looks way better on PC.

Splatoon: Essentially what you're getting right now is like the demo as far as multiplayer goes. Other than that, there's a story mode I haven't touched, a shop to buy clothes (stock resets daily, clothes offer stat and ability bonuses), a weapons shop where a weapon unlocks at each level you gain ... that's all for now. The game's main hub is populated by other people's Splatoons, like the Wii U menu is populated by Miis.

I had fun playing for a couple hours. Still keep coming back to the problem of "this would be more fun if we could both play together, and not some shitty balloon hunt." Also, Nintendo needs to learn some matchmaking skills from other shooting games. When I first got on as a level 1, the team setup had me against a level 18. That kind of thing happened through my playime, meaning there was pretty much zero thpirght into ho someone did.

Picked up Forge Heroes on Steam because it was like 12 bucks and looked fun.

I was right, pretty fun little hack/slash. I like that you can use twin-stick controls to move with one and turn with the other, makes dealing with packs of monsters much more fun and lets the caster classes feel less punished for wanting to kite/stay at range.

Play with meeeeee.
You're not oooooon ... much. :p

I was on when you posted this though, but I didn't think to check friends list. Dream Goddess is on at the moment, trying to get used to the motion controls. I know they can be turned off, but I think they're more helpful than not once you get used to them. Almost as good as a mouse.

Well more like, I say I want to play with you, and then IF you re-queue, we'll be in the same lobby. I can't even attempt it if you aren't in the lobby.

My son is so much better than me at this game that I feel bad about myself. But he is just about 13, so he should be I guess. [emoji14]

So, if you're playing a normal game, I sit there until your game is over and then I can join your lobby assuming you actually re-queue. It apparently doesn't even tell you that I am waiting to join you so that you'd know to re-queue. If you don't requeue, I just get thrown into a normal queue after I finish waiting.

I will not buy Splatoon. I will not buy Splatoon. I will not buy Splatoon. I will not buy Splatoon. I will not buy Splatoon. I will not buy Splatoon.

Strong Xander. Strong Xander.

Yeah, it will be more worth it once the additional content comes out, and people who got it early and people who get it later will all get the same stuff, barring perhaps the Amiibo exclusive gear since those might be hard to find later.

That said ... this is the first time since Wind Waker HD that I've had to go scrambling to plug in the gamepad because the red light had been on without my noticing. It's only been two days and between my wife and I, we've probably already clocked in more time than it took me to beat Bayonetta 2. Nintendo could really have a winner here. I still feel like playing more, it's just that it's late and I need sleep.[DOUBLEPOST=1433045974,1433045869][/DOUBLEPOST]I chuckle often whenever a match starts, because usually with a shooter everyone prowls out of the spawn zone to find their targets. Here, the moment the match begins there's shots blasting all over the place to cover as much ground with ink as possible.

Splatoon's first content update was exactly what I hoped for--just the online acknowledging what's already on the disc. New map, new weapon, new game mode, and ranked matches now open.

And I am in love with the new game mode, splat zone. Everyone's fighting like beasts over a small patch, trying to keep it for 90 seconds, or longer than the other team before time runs out. It's aggressive as hell. This is really the perfect way to get better at charge weapons, since killing the opponents is a viable stalling strategy.

I'm playing Witcher 3, AC 4 black flag (I've always wanted to try this one), Evolve, the FF10 HD remake, Alien:Isolation because @Jay could not stop singing it's praises and I will be playing the New Arkham game the day it comes.out, since it was put back into good developer's hands.

I've reached a point in the story of AC4: Black Flag that pissed me off so much, I went on a roaring rampage of devastation, sinking literally every ship that showed up on my radar. I think I personally blockaded all of Cuba from all maritime shipping.

He... he just wanted a quiet retirement, dammit! You couldn't give him that? He wasn't even a bad guy!

There aren't enough hours in my life to play Witcher 3.
So, not enjoying it at all, eh? That's a shame.[DOUBLEPOST=1433294668,1433294616][/DOUBLEPOST]

It never really LEFT the good developer's hands. WB wanted another Batman game sooner, so they got another studio to throw one together using most of the assets of the previous game.

So, how's Alien for you?

So can't be a squid now OR a kid now?
Can still play single player, so now who's laughing?

... not me, the single player is kinda meh. The only good thing about it is hearing my wife sing my praises because she takes so long to get through a level, and then watches me breeze through it in 2 minutes.

Right now, the servers are back up and I'm off from work, so I can do whatever I want, so time to play some Spla--writing. I have free time, so my work ethic is telling me to use it for writing and I'll feel guilty if I go enjoy myself.

Fuck.

Dragon Age Inquisition has become quite a commitment! I don't like to leave side quests not done so this is taking some time!

I'm looking into what I should play next, but it seems I have plenty of time to decide.

My wife is usually the same way, but even she eventually just had enough. There's just too much. She decided to visit different areas in her second playthrough to fill up the "screw around o meter".

Also, screw it, I'm playing Splatoon.

Splatoon: I think I've found my weapon of choice. Oddly enough, it's the weapon you start with.

Also, I would enjoy the new game mode more if they stopped have us play in the skate park, where teams have to control two zones. That's a level of coordination that's difficult to pull off in a game with no voice chat. I prefer the maps where there's only one zone and every goes apeshit trying to control it. Much more aggressive, less "oh, that one's empty now." If I want to do that, there's turf war, which is still a blast.

So, how's Alien for you?
To be honest, it kind of started out slow, but I love the environments, all the attention to detail, the voice acting. Now that'll i've gotten past what one might consider the "prologue", it deserves all the praise you've given it. I put down the Witcher 3 for a little while I can go through it.
