Comic Book News

Thor's identity revealed:

Jane Foster. She also has aggressive cancer so she's dying a little more every time she becomes Thor.
I'm sorry, has Matt Weiner been secretly writing Thor?*

*Yes, I realize this only makes sense if you've watched this past Sunday's Mad Men.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of SMBC, I think he gets a little too wordy and obtuse sometimes instead of just delivering the joke he wants.

It can be funny, but it's very recycled. I think his writing style goes 1: hear about science concept 2: take it to illogical extreme 3: either use kids, politicians, sex, or aliens as a vehicle to drive concept to extreme 4: illustrate crudely, ensuring that 90% of couples in strip are gay couples.

Hmm... Not sure I like my Galactus dropping slang anymore than my Superman dropping Kryptonians.

Squirrel girl's a funny book, things that go on, in her book are as relevant and important to companies shared universe as Deadpool and Lobo's.[DOUBLEPOST=1431533771,1431533636][/DOUBLEPOST]Related. Read some previews for the new Bizarro and Bat-mite titles coming this June. They look like they're going to be a lot of fun.

I suspect that, just as Galactus' form appears different to different life forms because of his transcendental nature, his slang usage is dependent on the observer. Heck, @Bubble181 probably sees those comic panels in Dutch.

So apparently the THORS are sort of like Marvel's Green Lantern Corps - a universal police force made up of those who are worthy. So you have The Mighty Thor, Thor Odinsen, Odin, Lady Thor, Thororo (Storm Thor), Throg Frog of Thunder, Beta Ray Bill, Groothor (yes, Thor is Groot), Destroyer Thor, Loki Thor (I am not kidding), etc.

The Thors thing is due to how this whole Secret Wars/Battleworld thing is playing out. They worship Doom as a God now, as opposed to Odin, and are basically his police force on Battleworld.

what the fuck

Is this Marvel's Crisis on Infinite Earths or their Nu52? Is this how they're ending Fantastic Four and X-Men? This seems ... like a not good thing.

So, the Star Wars and Darth Vader comics have been running for awhile now and are both pretty good reads (the art in Vader's pretty hit/miss, though). They take place between New Hope and Empire.

In the most recent issue of SW, however, some big news:

Han Solo is still married, and his wife is not happy with him. She follows him and Leia to a remote neutral planet to confront him about something.

First teaser image for the post-Secret Wars Marvel.

So we have:
Spider-Gwen
Spider-Man (Peter, maybe?)
Vision
Spider-Miles
Coulson (I assume)
Spider-Woman
Black Panther
Captain America/Falcon
Captain Grandpa/Steve Rogers
Iron Man (no idea yet who's in the suit)
Ant-Man (I think it's Lang)
Thor (identity recently revealed, won't spoil it)
Ms. Marvel
Some Indian Guy

They've also said there's a big shakeup with Hulk coming that will supposedly make "the people who complained about Thor upset again."

That Iron Man is... running. That's weird. There must be some changes, which also show in the suit's design. This makes me curious (but not much, because, you know... tired of so many changes)

Also, the vision's design seems to be updated to match the MCU, right?ç

Is this, different, image official? (larger size)

Huh, it seems so.

I really don't know who at least a 1/3 of these are. I do recognize:

Rocket Racoon
The Thing
Medusa
Daredevil
Doctor Strange with a freaking axe?
X-23 in Wolverine's costume
Starlord
Old-man Logan

No clue on the one flying in the blue glow, patriot with the sword, teenage doom in a green hoodie, nuclear guy, or fire guy (Sunspot?).

Yeah was just coming to post that one. The rest are, apparently, listed here.

Thing is wearing a uniform like Rocket's, so I guess he's going to be a GotG. The Cap-ish guy is possibly Baron Zemo, fireman is Inferno, an Inhuman character they were pushing pretty hard pre-Secret Wars. You also have Hyperion (nuclear belt), Karnak (green hoodie, another Inhuman), and Doctor Spectrum, a character from an alternate Earth in the Incursion storyline in Avengers.
