Is this movie's subtitle Kristen Wiig Prays and Stares A Lot? Because that was really weird and distracting. Otherwise, this looks pretty awesome.

That would actually be a neat thing, if Affleck shows up à la Adam West in Robinson Crusoe on Mars.Plot twist, Ben Affleck shows up and half the movie is long shots of him and Matt Damon just walking through the martian desert.

I only took 10 weeks of French.
It was taught by my Spanish teacher.
This has left lingering confusing regarding things like accents.

It's generally where you release stuff you want to fail. It's an odd choice, unless they are trying to avoid Marvel's deathgrip on May.January, huh? That's a strange release time.
Whatever; I'll be there.
Might be. Pixar's got 2015 under their thumb, so releasing near Christmas isn't a great idea. January is certainly a time where there wouldn't be much competition. It's generally where you release stuff you want to fail. It's an odd choice, unless they are trying to avoid Marvel's deathgrip on May.
I disagree. I think Kung-Fu Panda has enough steam behind it that they can stand up to The Good Dinosaur, which hasn't gotten a lot of promotion at all. It's got the star power, it's got the franchise, and it's going to KILL in Asia... not to mention all the fucking money they are going to make off of toys and the TV show they have going.Might be. Dreamworks must not think so, since they're not putting it out in November to compete--that, or they have other reasons. Maybe it just won't be ready by then. January will be fine though. Has anyone involved in this even read a Peanuts strip?
No, I suspect not. Maybe they watched some of the TV specials, but I'm guessing they thought the somewhat depressing element of Peanuts wouldn't sell.Has anyone involved in this even read a Peanuts strip?
Sad truth. Still sounds fun, though. No, I suspect not. Maybe they watched some of the TV specials, but I'm guessing they thought the somewhat depressing element of Peanuts wouldn't sell.
Uh guys, Star Wars. Star Wars in December. Who the heck wants to release against Star Wars?Might be. Pixar's got 2015 under their thumb, so releasing near Christmas isn't a great idea. January is certainly a time where there wouldn't be much competition.
That's a good point. Can't blame them for risking January with THAT albatross around their neck.Uh guys, Star Wars. Star Wars in December. Who the heck wants to release against Star Wars?
Totally forgot about that. I bet you're right.Uh guys, Star Wars. Star Wars in December. Who the heck wants to release against Star Wars?
Unlike the Broadway show, at least these guys remember that SNOOPY DOESN'T TALK.Has anyone involved in this even read a Peanuts strip?
Oh my Glob that play flashed before my eyes....yeah that Snoopy bit was the worst.Unlike the Broadway show, at least these guys remember that SNOOPY DOESN'T TALK.

Well, YAGMCB would have had long pieces of silence if they kept the Silent Snoopy act up.
I agree. I read Peanuts growing up, and I've read much of the collected reprints, including some of the really old strips when Snoopy was just a puppy. Peanuts has gone through a lot of shifts in tone over the years, and the only thing really out of character in this trailer is the soundtrack, and I don't have a problem with that. It's a little strange for pop music to be associated with Peanuts, but I think it works for the trailer (and I can't find any evidence it will be in the film). For me, I like what I've seen so far. I feel like it has a lot of the heart of the original strips, but it's given Charlie Brown a chance to try and grow. Adaptions for the stage and screen have heavily documented his depression, and he's occasional triumphs, so there really wouldn't be a point in doing it again. Clearly, he is still the "Charlie Brown-iest", as far as his luck goes, but there isn't anything here that seems out of character. (And yes, I regularly read the strips growing, own many volumes of the collected strips, as well as some of Schultz's non-Peanuts books, least you think I've only "watched the tv specials".)
