Hunger Games 3: Part 2: Trailer 1

I see they're keeping the slime stuff; I'm hoping they throw in more of the weird shit from the book.

This is the only Hunger Games movie I intend to see on opening night.

For the tears, of course.

Plot twist, Ben Affleck shows up and half the movie is long shots of him and Matt Damon just walking through the martian desert.
That would actually be a neat thing, if Affleck shows up à la Adam West in Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

Fixed.
I only took 10 weeks of French.
It was taught by my Spanish teacher.
This has left lingering confusing regarding things like accents.

Don't worry, up until 2 weeks ago I wrote gracias with a ç :p Wouldn't bother to point it out but I tend to assume you want to be corrected on small specifics :p

It's generally where you release stuff you want to fail. It's an odd choice, unless they are trying to avoid Marvel's deathgrip on May.
Might be. Pixar's got 2015 under their thumb, so releasing near Christmas isn't a great idea. January is certainly a time where there wouldn't be much competition.

I disagree. I think Kung-Fu Panda has enough steam behind it that they can stand up to The Good Dinosaur, which hasn't gotten a lot of promotion at all. It's got the star power, it's got the franchise, and it's going to KILL in Asia... not to mention all the fucking money they are going to make off of toys and the TV show they have going.

Dreamworks must not think so, since they're not putting it out in November to compete--that, or they have other reasons. Maybe it just won't be ready by then. January will be fine though. I don't care when it comes out; I'm gonna see it.

For me, I like what I've seen so far. I feel like it has a lot of the heart of the original strips, but it's given Charlie Brown a chance to try and grow. Adaptions for the stage and screen have heavily documented his depression, and he's occasional triumphs, so there really wouldn't be a point in doing it again. Clearly, he is still the "Charlie Brown-iest", as far as his luck goes, but there isn't anything here that seems out of character. (And yes, I regularly read the strips growing, own many volumes of the collected strips, as well as some of Schultz's non-Peanuts books, least you think I've only "watched the tv specials".)

Uh guys, Star Wars. Star Wars in December. Who the heck wants to release against Star Wars?

Saw a new Pan trailer today ... still looks really bad. Not only is there the stupid "Peter Pan and James Hook are friends!" thing, but now there's the insertion of a prophecy and a chosen one, meshing Dances With Wolves/Avatar with the Hero with a Thousand Faces motif. Just looks like an awful movie.

I agree. I read Peanuts growing up, and I've read much of the collected reprints, including some of the really old strips when Snoopy was just a puppy. Peanuts has gone through a lot of shifts in tone over the years, and the only thing really out of character in this trailer is the soundtrack, and I don't have a problem with that. It's a little strange for pop music to be associated with Peanuts, but I think it works for the trailer (and I can't find any evidence it will be in the film).

What I've seen in the comics is that Charlie Brown always tries. He really thinks this is going to be the year his team wins at baseball. He thinks the little red haired girl will finally notice him. And this trailer seems to be showing off that side of Charlie Brown. The side that tries, over and over again, to be someone special.
