This comic means something very much darker to me, because I know Giga is a Japanese porn studio that specializes in ryona porn.
....I don't know what ryona is (and I'm not googling that at work, tyvm), but I pretty much read it as pedophile rape, and I don't see how you can get much darker
Ryona is, basically, torture. There are Japanese porn studios that specialize in depictions of women getting beaten and choked and whipped and shocked and shot and stabbed and crushed and killed. And raped, yes. I'm pretty sure they have one for the reverse as well. Japan is pretty equal when it comes to it's sexual depravities, at least as far as their existence goes... it's just that the market for male focused stuff is and always has been much more profitable.

Ugh. Even though I don't wholly agree with her arguments, I've enjoyed Anita Sarkeesian's videos. Some of her arguments are incredibly flawed, but she has raised some good points.
But it's shit like this that I unfollowed her on Twitter. It's like she jumps on whatever most popular, trending bandwagon and finds a way to put it down.
Yeah, there's violence in video games and maybe violent video games dominate the marketplace (like superheroes dominate the comics industry), but that doesn't mean you can't have them at all.
Plus, it's called fucking DOOM. What do expect? Stopping puppies by rubbing their bellies with unicorn stuffies?

Well, their cash flow comes from being the Glenn Beck of video games, so they've got to say outrageous things to get people talking about them (preferably talking mean about them) so they can continue their roles as "champions of the persecuted" and keep those patreon dollars flowing.
I used to think that opinion was bullshit, but I've got to admit, lately it's looking more and more true. I mean, DOOM is, and always has been, a game wherein a space marine finds himself blasting his way through the literal hordes of Hell, on one of the moons of Mars. It's not deep, it's not clever, it's about "Whoa shit watch out for that demon knight's rockets now I'mma light him up with this plasma gun!" inane fun. Criticizing DOOM for being violent is like criticizing Wolfenstein for all the Nazi symbols.
So while I agree with some of her ideas and that a lot of these discussions need to be had, her specific examples are often really bad choices and headline-baiting like this doesn't really help matters. It immediately puts some people who would otherwise be open to some of her ideas on the defensive.
I genuinely wonder about that, though I wonder how you would go about assigning a ranking to all the forumites.
