Well, the new consoles don't go above 30 fps either. They couldn't show colours at 30fps.
Also, the colours seem less muted in the Just Cause 3 screenshots compared to the last game. Is it just me?

How come Wii U can hit 60 FPS with Splatoon if the other guys can't get there with their stuff?Well, the new consoles don't go above 30 fps either.

Can you be a squid now or a kid now on the PS4 or the Xbox? No. No, you cannot. That's why.How come Wii U can hit 60 FPS with Splatoon if the other guys can't get there with their stuff?
Because Splatoon could run on a 360 or Ps3.How come Wii U can hit 60 FPS with Splatoon if the other guys can't get there with their stuff?
... that's fucking stupid then. PS4 and Xbone have such an increased demand on graphics that it makes the processing power of the new consoles irrelevant?Because Splatoon could run on a 360 or Ps3.
I mean, it seems fun and all, but Splatoon looks like it might actually run on a Dreamcast.... that's fucking stupid then. PS4 and Xbone have such an increased demand on graphics that it makes the processing power of the new consoles irrelevant?
Nintendo favors high framerate over graphical fidelity. Splatoon can run at 60fps because it doesn't need as much horsepower.... that's fucking stupid then. PS4 and Xbone have such an increased demand on graphics that it makes the processing power of the new consoles irrelevant?
Have you seen a DC game lately? I know you're not a console fan, but come on now.[DOUBLEPOST=1433619386,1433619232][/DOUBLEPOST]I mean, it seems fun and all, but Splatoon looks like it might actually run on a Dreamcast.
Honestly I think a lot of the problem started with the push of games like Gears of War. There was this sudden need to make the games look gritty and gloomy due to the setting and unfortunately a lot of developers latched on and never let go. Throwing a brown/green/etc filter over the camera is a lot easier than actually working to make your setting believable. They'll say it was only possible with the new generation of consoles.
As someone that still has (and even sometimes still plays) his Dreamcast, I can say that people tend to overestimate the power of their old machines, because nostalgia makes us remember them as impressive for the time.Have you seen a DC game lately? I know you're not a console fan, but come on now
It's a bit more streamlined than that, but it doesn't have an enormous graphics demand. I think the only reason it would need a current console is for the liquid effects.I mean, it seems fun and all, but Splatoon looks like it might actually run on a Dreamcast.
I wish the Nintendo eshop had a return policy. I would've returned Code of Princess at 1:05 AM, 25 minutes after I bought it.So if anyone's curious the Steam Refund thing is working great. I returned a couple games I bought (one on 5/30, the other in March) that I hadn't played much of and the money will go back to my account within a week. They seem pretty forgiving on the return date and overall playtime, at least for now.
tldr; too fucking bad, do more research, don't buy wrong games/DLCSituation:

Muscle memory, man. I find myself doing the same paths/moves in old games even 20 years later. The body knows what it's supposed to do, even if you don't remember.Just to see how rusty I am after 30 years, I fired up contra on an emulator tonight and gave it a go. No Konami code, no continues, I made it to the level 7 boss. Not too shabby if I say so myself. I probably could do better if I played it again, but to be honest toward the end there I was starting to find it a bit tedious.
The opposite happens whenever I try old games. In many of the Mega Man levels, I rarely managed to reach even the boss. Even struggled with, say, early stages in Super Mario World.Just to see how rusty I am after 30 years, I fired up contra on an emulator tonight and gave it a go. No Konami code, no continues, I made it to the level 7 boss. Not too shabby if I say so myself. This works for me until those GODDAMN PHASING BLOCKS BECAUSE THEY'RE PIECES OF SHIT AND I HATE THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES ANDMuscle memory, man. I find myself doing the same paths/moves in old games even 20 years later. The body knows what it's supposed to do, even if you don't remember.
Totalbiscuit did a wtf is of it. It's not a bad game, there just isn't much meat to it. And the 'controversy' surrounding it was dumb, when really what happens in the game is no worse than anything you can do in other, better games, like GTA.Huh, Hatred was released on June 1 and I didn't even notice. Reviews have been rather negative though, calling the game buggy and a bit of a one-trick pony.
Guess I might get it if it ever goes on an intense sale. Doubt it though.
Except for the execution QTEs, which are more like Manhunt or Space Marine. And yeah, while you can go on a killing spree in GTA, in Hatred, that's literally all there is to do, and whether you do nothing or not, eventually police / military will show up to kill you in Hatred.Totalbiscuit did a wtf is of it. I was not aware of that, makes the whole thing doubly gross.[DOUBLEPOST=1433873028,1433872567][/DOUBLEPOST]It's unfortunate more people don't cover FF Tactics music because it's some of the best. Some of the devs having connections to white supremacy groups still has me not wanting anything to do with it, stupid violence controversy or no.
The iOS game is the PSP version, so there's really nothing wrong with it. Otherwise I agree, FFTA never caught my interest which means I didn't even bother with FFTA2.Final Fantasy Tactics anything is my crack.
(except the Advance games and the iOs game)
I was referring to Final Fantasy Tactics S, but apparently that only lasted for a little over a year. The iOS game is the PSP version, so there's really nothing wrong with it. Otherwise I agree, FFTA never caught my interest which means I didn't even bother with FFTA2.
