I looked up the Kyton demons he mentioned, and they seem to be the D&D equivalent of Pinhead and the Cenobites from Hellraiser.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a DM has thrown that particular situation at their players before.

And Kore's a very high-level and experienced paladin. It wouldn't surprise me if he knows how the talking room works, or can deduce it.

Kore has that same chain of souls power that the golem is using in the last panel.

The symbol on the Door Golem's forehead was glowing with the color/pattern of Minmax's IME (individual magic effect), then the last panel showed that glow changing to the ghostly chains of Kore's IME.
