How to play Left 4 Dead (2).

We've been saving Back to School for you, beyond that, I've been the only one actively suggesting maps really, because I have nothing better to do with my life apparently. ;)

My point is, suggest maps everyone!
Why? You're doing an excellent job in that role ;)

Anyway, yeah, Ash we've kinda been saving Back to School so that you could play it with us too. My tentative plan at this point is to try for 2 sessions back to back, recording both, and then building a hybrid video that shows interesting parts from both playthroughs in a single format, sort of like how React Gaming does things.

But in order to set this up, I need to know your time availabilities!

Hmm... one's I've been interested in that I haven't gotten around to yet...

One 4 Nine
Yama
Haunted Forest
Blood Tracks (I have this installed, haven't gotten to it yet)
Escansion
Suicide Blitz (This has a custom tank!)
Tour of Terror
Lost
Overkill
Warcelona

Oh! And one for the list I've done.

- Questionable Ethics (This is LONG AND HARD. You'll all need your best teamwork to get through.) (It's also not really a Versus Map)

As for my availability, I'm usually available whenever, if I'm not doing ESO or something.

So the end of One 4 Nine was something we watched yesterday and kind of rejected, but we COULD do it. I was looking at Yama and EVERYONE was bitching about the finale, but I figure how bad could it really be?! (I already downloaded both of these)

Here's what I currently have installed (star next to what we have played)

Diescraper Redux
Devil Mountain
Dead Before Dawn Director's Cut
Yama
One 4 Nine
*Urban Flight
*Night Terror
Back to School
*Deathcraft (still need to fight the Ender Dragon)
*Day Break
*Death Aboard
*I Hate Mountains
*Journey to Splash Mountain[DOUBLEPOST=1443465798,1443465717][/DOUBLEPOST]I really liked the IDEA of doing Questionable Ethics, I thought it looked cool, but that will have to be on a sober night where we don't care if we're up all night.

Still sad about the not recording Day Break thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1443466050,1443465965][/DOUBLEPOST]Also I assume you're assuming @Terrik will just always be there because, like me, he's turned into a L4D night junkie.

We definitely need to find an alternate game to play BEFORE we burn out on this one. ;)

Me too. I really wish I had recorded that. I'm going to buy another hard drive.

Actually I meant to mention him too, but yeah, apart from his teaching gig, we know he's always freakin' around :p

I'm still curious to see how we'd all do in Killing Floor. And hey, it's SIX player co-op!

One of my myriad of Steam games I own but have never installed.
It's kinda like L4D, but not. The pacing is totally different, and has much less emphasis on "running and gunning" and more on defense and looking out for each other.

It's sort of like Left 4 Dead if there was nowhere to run, but there is a giant pile of guns nearby.

Gas and I have played a bit. It's pretty intense but it's not the kind of thing you can do every day.

True. Killing floor is spice, not meat. I've had real life friends have the gaming equivalent of a nervous collapse because Killing Floor gave them panic attacks.

Killing Floor is also pretty newb friendly: we can crank it down to Easy and let everyone get a hang of their chosen class before making the game more challenging.

I also keep meaning to check Killing Floor 2 (which I bought, and is still in early access) and see how its progression is coming. I think they finally added pyros and demos. Wonder if they've got more than 3 official maps yet.

Maybe I should start a "How to play Killing Floor" thread.

Hahaha, wow I have not only never played it, it's been in my Steam library for FOUR years. I am the worst.

I switch back to night shift next month, so I will be unable to play on any night except Wednesdays, and then, only after 2100 EST or so...

Killing Floor has always struck me as interesting, but never picked it up...

That's our usual time.

Well, that's also thinking ahead for post-L4D. Don't quite run out and grab it yet ;) but it usually goes on sale for real cheap a few times a year, maybe pick it up at a steam sale.

Also as a heads up, virtually all the DLC is cosmetic skins that you don't NEED. There are also some weapon packs that are fun but they aren't remarkably better than the ones you can buy by default.

Dei might want to shell out for the Ash Harding character pack if she wants her in-game toon to be female, though. Assuming she doesn't already have it. When I got Killing Floor from humble bundle, it came with all DLC up to that point, which included Ash Harding.

I usually play as Foundry Worker Aldridge, myself.

Yeah... the only female character I have is Steampunk Mrs. Foster (which you can only unlock during the Summer Event) but I usually tool around as the priest.

The only time I can be sure of is Friday around 9pm Eastern, though I work Saturday morning. Monday night I can be up until 4am or so since I don't work until 4:30pm on Tuesday night, but I might not get online until after midnight. Most nights I will be on late, though.

So now that I have actually installed this damn game, maybe we should test the waters with our some time to see how it would work out. If nothing else, we could always screw with it on a weekend afternoon when we have nothing better to do than sitting in Vent not taking. [emoji14]

11 hours of silence: A Ventrilo Adventure with Dei and GasBandit.

I kept drifting in and our of sleep during finale, and somehow didn't die.
The finale isn't TOO bad: there is only one ammo pile (in the tent in the middle of the field that you can get swarmed in) but the end zone is easily defendable and there aren't too many vaccine canisters to check. There are also something like 6-8 medkits scattered all over the field, which is probably fair in ADVANCED but overkill in Normal.

Really, the only bullshit section in the entire campaign is the sewer bit where it's super easy to fall to your death and the grindhouse finale where you have to use THEIR axe to break the power lines, but they never tell you.

Well, it could be you didnt have to use their axe, and instead had to hit "E" with an axe you already have (if you have one). Im not sure now. Maybe you DO have to use their axe, because I don't remember seeing a prompt before I got their axe. I guess I'd have to test it.

Meanwhile, you still don't realize I saved you from getting jockeyed off of a building, just to have you abandon me seconds later to nearly get jockeyed off in your stead. ;)
