STOP MAKING THESE!
Not until Hot Topic stops making money.

But anyway, I thought the first one was only a mild success financially? I didn't pay that close attention, but I didn't think it did well enough to warrant a franchise. (Unless they've had more success on dvd/after market , which has been known to happen.)

Apparently, the first one made over a billion dollars.

That's why we're getting a second one.

I didn't hate the first one, I just hated that the only reason I saw it was because someone gave me the wrong tickets that one time.

Most of Asia seems to be REALLY impressed with CG right now... 3D too. Mostly because Japan's 3D FX artists aren't half as skilled as the ones in the US, as many animators are still more interested in doing anime/manga than CG.

We kind of take for granted that western CG is done so well today. Japan's has gotten to the stage of "we can make nice textures and correct lighting, but what is weight?" Kind of like western CG 10 years ago.

It was pretty to look at, mildly entertaining adventure that kids could watch. Hollywood is riddled with this. As an example, see almost every movie you enjoyed before the age of 11. :troll:

My wife is a complete non-geek, and I can tell you, she really liked the Burton Alice, which I was baffled by. I guess something about it appeals to the non-geek crowd.

Some things looked like they could be improved, but they still got awhile to make some changes. Overall I thought it looked really good.

Looks spectacular. Reminds me a bit of Avatar*.
Hope they don't Hollywood it too much.

*but with the roles reversed (humans as the indigenous race rather than as invaders).

I've never been into Warcraft at all, but it's a Duncan Jones movie, so I'm in, short of hearing horrible things about it.

Rangar Lothbrok and Howard Stark against Orcs? Could be fun!
I was so confused for a minute, trying to think a GoT character named Howard.

What is with the absurd amount of bass rumbling in this trailer? I had to switch to headphones because I was worried I'd bother my neighbors below me with how much my desk was shaking.
I had to take the headphones I was using off, since they are bass-enhancing headphones and I couldn't hear any of the other sound over the bass.

That...looks alright. Not quite as good as I was hoping, but still solid. The orc portions in particular look good.

Honestly, I'm hoping this turns out to be great, because this and the Assassin's Creed movie seem like our best shots at getting good video game movies at the moment.

If I want to watch a movie about someone who can't remember anything yet has flashbacks from her early childhood I'll go talk to my mom.

(This is a joke. Sort of. But not really.)

In my opinion, this movie is unnecessary and feels forced.

So did the Toy Story sequels and they turned out arguably better than the original.

I feel like this was announced shortly after John Carter came out and people not being too happy with the idea.

I'll see the trailer before Good Dinosaur later this month and judge with the target audience--noisy children.

Was anyone really chomping at the bit for a sequel to Zoolander?

(Keep in mind, I've never seen the original. Any time I caught bits of it on TV, it looked dumb as hell. And I can't really stand Ben Stiller, with the exception of when he was in Mystery Men. But that was more an ensemble film, so he wasn't the only star.)

I never saw it either, but it sure generated a lot of memes that lasted.

It's the same for me, and I don't get it, either! Every time I see him in anything*, he's always playing that guy everything bad happens to, and his misery is played for laughs, and I hate that sort of character. I mean, I enjoy schadenfreude as much as the next guy, but when it starts hitting levels of improbability that would require actual divine intervention to maintain, I just can't enjoy it any more.

*I haven't seen him in everything, yet. So I guess there's hope.
