Honestly, I think right now, we're starting to see a shift in the old gaming giants.
We saw THQ fall, already. Konami is essentially all but gone as a game developer. Most of the big name developers these days have a bad name to them for various reasons, like EA and WB. I doubt those two will go away any time soon, but EA especially is a shadow of their past selves.
I'm sure I've said this before and I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but I think we'll start seeing a new wave of big name developers that started out as indie developers more recently. Like Devolver Digital, who have been making a name for themselves as an amazing indie game developer or publisher. I think the one to watch for is Hello Games, who started small with Joe Danger & Joe Danger 2, but now are on the cusp of releasing No Man's Sky. Provided the hype and build up is worth it.
