Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Fuck Glee. Double fuck the Gleeks. Triple fuck the tumblrina Gleeks polluting perfectly good tags with their fandom bullshit.

So I'm checking out the history of WNEW-FM, one of, if not the pioneer of FM radio back in the late 60s through the 70s. and TIL their overnight DJ, and vital to the growth of progressive and space rock was one Alison Steele, aka The Nightbird.

Her heyday was when I was too young and too far away from NYC to appreciate it, so I check out a few sites to see what the internet has out there. Including tumblr.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT, TUMBLR? WHO THE FUCK IS THAT DUMBASS SUPERHERO WANNABE GLEE KID?

Quadruple fuck Glee.

That'll be Blaine Anderson, played by Darren Criss, otherwise known as Harry Potter from A Very Potter Musical.

Please don't kill me. :p

Yeah, the talent show is in two weeks. [emoji24]
All Orchestra Concert. Charging us $15 a family to sit through not one, not two, but every orchestra from 5th through 12th grade, just so you can see your kid in whatever grade they are in.

I may have referred to this as "a marathon of suffering" to a couple of my coworkers earlier this week.

Yeah kids concerts and plays are torture. Just remember you're doing it for them.

Because they hate being there even more and this way you get to gloat from the audience.

My daughter loves them. So that is no comfort. ;) My son doesn't like it as much, but he's in the audition band, so that's at least tolerable to listen to.

I actually love going to my kids' performances, no matter how cheesy or whatever. I honestly enjoy them. Other kid's shows however...

Li'l Z has only had one "performance" so far (the whole preschool learned 3 short Halloween songs they sang/pantomimed for the parents right after the costume parade), and I got a big kick out of it. Mainly because Li'l Z, unlike most of his peers, was really getting into it. Both Mr. Z and I enjoyed performing when we were young, so maybe he's got that gene. I probably not going to enjoy the longer stuff of later years, but the parts where it's my kid? Sure!

I love watching my kids perform. My son as Elvis singing "Santa Bring My Baby Back (to Me)" is probably one of my favorite performances of all time. This talent show, though. They let the kids do pretty much anything. They've had kids sit on the stage and draw. Not on an easel so people can see. Sitting on the stage like they were on the floor, drawing in pencil. You have 5 minutes of thinking deep thoughts while this child "performs". They've had kids on pogo sticks just jumping. My son and his friend threw together a science presentation, the night before that year's talent show, that was so disorganized I would have made them get off of the stage. Nope. We got to watch 5 minutes of them fumbling around doing "experiments". It's truly terrible and usually comes in around 3 hours long.

I hate the annual Christmas concert at the kid's school. Hate!!

It's always so soon after work and we're rushing and stressed and the band always goes first and its headache inducing.

My whine. I'm on my last flight and in a ton of pain. Partially made worse by me. Using the cane in the airport the other day was hell so I packed it tonight and took some pain meds and hobbled. Bad plan. They directed me to the accessible security line even without it. I have to drive home so I could only take so much medication. I feel like I'm sitting on a knife.

I'm at the window and a teenager has the aisle. He has the worst BO and his carry on is loose stinky sports gear. My eyes are watering. And this is through my sad not so functioning nose.

This was so me. I hated being there, hated being in it, hated having to sit through it even when I wasn't involved. It's even worse nowadays when kids are learning "acting" from Disney channel shows. Anyone who's watched a Disney channel show knows what I mean.

I'm feeling quite under the weather right now, and I can't decide if I should go home and rest or tough it out for the rest of the day. On the one hand, I'm feeling woozy and disoriented, which means I can't give my cases the full attention or quality they deserve. On the other hand, my coworkers in my department already have a full afternoon, so if I leave then they'll have to cover my cases, which means they'll either have to sacrifice quality, or they'll need to bust their asses.

Although if I leave, the odds of infecting someone should go down. Choices, choices...

Same situation. Definitely coming down with something, but not feeling completely broken yet, so I'm deciding to work the day.

Let's see if bhamv and I come to regret our decisions!

I've got an illness too, and am still going to work. Apparently I'd rather infect my co-workers than use a PTO day. Either that or it's easier being sick at work than at home where I'd have three kids crawling all over me...

That said, this illness isn't hitting me nearly as hard as they usually do, and I'm wondering if the cpap therapy I've been using for my sleep apnea has been helping me. Usually by now my asthma makes itself known and I just lose all my energy for days as the cold/flu/whatever relocates from my head to my chest. Perhaps breathing at night and keeping your oxygen level normal makes it easier for your body to fight infection...

Guh... I slept through my alarm, didn't wake up until 10:30...

Today's gonna be all off kilter, even if the GM doesn't notice my tardiness..

Odd, usually the cat wakes me up even if the alarm doesn't. I guess today he decided to sleep in, too.
