What are you playing?

I tend to play typing games or controller games if I'm laying in bed on my laptop, because trying to keyboard/mouse is actually pretty hard.
It doesn't seem to hurt my performance in Left 4 Dead very much, but honestly Killing Floor is a great order of magnitude more difficult and requires more precision, if you ask me.

Also it doesn't help that I was alone and had no one to watch my back... that's pretty dangerous in that game.

At this point I've invaded and killed more other players in Dark Souls 3 than any other game in this series. But they made it so easy to get Cracked Red Eye Orbs, how can I resist?!

Especially when they've made each area so fun to be in, that there's no need for a PVP arena. Everywhere can be one. Since I'm stuck on a difficult boss anyway, why not gather up some more crucial items and have fun doing it? :D

I've been playing more of The Division, and the more I play, the more I think the game is secretly terrifying. You play as a government agent ruthlessly mowing down US citizens in the middle of a disaster zone without due process.

Typically in these games, there is a justification of why you are shooting people. It's an apocalypse and society has collapsed, or they're zombies, or aliens. These aren't even enemy combatants, it might make sense if they were an invading force, but they're people that live there. They're just people that live in new York that formed into groups after the catastrophe, and your reason for slaughtering them is because your superiors told you to.

That's kinda terrifying.

Yeah, pretty much. Supposedly it's in the name of "restoring order" but... well, until you and your team go in, guns blazing, they generally aren't doing anything besides trying to stay alive.

I got into the WoW: Legion Alpha. I wouldn't have even known save for the Beta Realm download showing up on my Account List. Demon Hunter's pretty fun and looks slick when you're fighting. Hoping to get some time on the new zones and Artifact weapons when I get home from work.

Well, not entirely true. They are trying to steal things, kidnap people, and try to incinerate everyone who might even be a little infected.

Yes, some of them are doing obviously violent things. Some of them are just standing around, and you are ordered to execute them because they stole medicine.

It would actually make a good Judge Dredd game.

Tried the 2nd one yet? I think it's better than the first at this point.

I tried the Doom multiplayer open beta since that's a thing this weekend. Bethesda's hyping it hardcore, but it's pretty generic. If you already own any FPS multiplayer, this isn't going to feel like anything special. The demon transformation isn't a gameplay changer, you just get a new gun and better jetpack. I played a round and a half before I got bored and turned on a better game.

Apparently I have played Dark Souls 3 for 24 hours out of the last four days. I have collected many tongues, and now I'm officially fucking stuck. I haven't looked up anything for this game so far and I really want to keep it that way.

Dark Souls 3: Been stuck on a boss most of the day. Tonight my wife was apparently looking up strategies that said the fight was pretty much impossible alone, one should just bring a friend or two.

She told me this after I won, friendless and shieldless. I'm glad I got the stones to do a shieldless run for this one, because most of the bosses seem like they wouldn't give a shit about a shield anyway, so becoming dependent on a shield might just be crippling yourself. Now I can't wait to go back through the first Dark Souls without a shield.

Also tried the Battleborn open beta because my wife's friend wanted her to try and I figured I'd give it a go. The imagery is colorful and cartoony in a good way, but the gameplay was really cluttered. This seems like some kind of weird Team Fortress 2/League of Legends mash-up and it's a bit messy. I think it would've served them better to be less like League and more like Team. Wife didn't care for it, I didn't care for it. Curious if Overwatch will be any good.

Transformers: Devastation is a blast. Sideswipe is a lighting-fast combo God. Only got about an hour of time in it so far but I can see myself clearing this game for sure.

Of course, it's just one of the games I have on the list now:

TFD
Fire Emblem: Fates (still haven't cleared Birthright, the first story I started)
FFXIV
WoW: Legion Alpha
Xenoblade X
FFIX
Grandia II

Plus I think Bravely Second comes out soon (or already did?). I'm going to try and keep myself from picking it up until I've finished something else, or decided to drop it. There's also Overwatch's early access starting in about 2-3 weeks.

Yeah I made kind of a big stinky deal about it at one point but really it's just costumes for the game itself so whatever. I don't like that the art book was apparently censored, but I wasn't going to get the CE anyway.

I've been messing around on Pokemon Red, and I seriously forgot how much Pokemon used to love to kick you in the balls at the beginning of the game. Of course, it doesn't help that I decided to go hard mode and start with Charmander. ;) SO MUCH ROCK POKEMON! At least I have my Pikachu for Misty.

This is one of the reasons why Charmander learns Metal Claw and why Pikachu gets Iron Tail at a fairly early level in later games and the remakes: without some Metal moves, you basically have no recourse against Brock.

Man, my charmander still one shotted all of Brock's Pokemon using just ember.

It was just so much time level grinding before the first gym compared to newer games. -_-
Yes, I think my charmander was actually a charmeleon by the time I fought Brock. But I was a kid, and if there's one thing kids know how to do, it's grind.

I always made sure my Charmander was level 10 before leaving that little patch of grass outside Pallet Town.

Not sure how I played that game over and over without getting bored.

Guys the FF9 port is a 10/10.

Updated textures, runs like a dream, and best of all you can turn off the stupid Battle Camera that made every fight take waaaaaaaay too long.

Man, Agar.io really blows goats now. Lags like shit, bullshit facebook/google login microtransaction nonsense, a total shitfest from start to finish. RIP what was once a fun timewaster.
Also there are quite a few bots for Agario available now, and they can play pretty much perfectly. If you find you simply cannot escape that sonuvabitch who keeps eating you, it's quite possible the human in front of the keyboard is just watching his bot play.
Perhaps you could instead be tempted by slither.io ?

No no no, Disc 3 is "DAGGER CAN'T CONCENTRATE!!!!"

Disc *4* is fly into big tree portal.
To be fair, it's more like Disc 3 is...

"Dagger gets PTSD after her mother gets slaughtered, which happens after her mother essentially force rapes her to get her eidolons and uses them to commit genocide on rat people."

I'll admit the story gets slow there, but it's no worse than basically everything after the assassination attempt in FF8. Or Cloud's PTSD in FF7 (which is only annoying because it's a HUGE side plot during THE END OF THE WORLD).

I like Cloud's PTSD/Lifestream coma only because Cid is in charge at that point, and he's the best character in the game.
I liked him even better because, without any other foreknowledge of the character, when it asked me to name him, I renamed him Captain Jack Testes.* It made everything he did 5% better.

*ok, it didn't fit like that, I had to abbreviate it to "CptJakTestes"
