If only there was some way that your phone would let you communicate verbally in real time, instead of having to type/look at a screen.

The point still stands, though, as I doubt they were on facebook on a computer at the time.

And really, people just call all forms of instant messaging "texting" because they're lazy and apathetic. Private facebook message? Texting. Google hangouts? Texting. MMS? Texting. SMS? Texting. And so on. It makes words show up on your phone! It's texting liek ohmigawd, mom.

All of those things I would call texting. But that wasn't even private! It was flat out on the Facebook wall. :p It's the way old people who don't get the internet communicate on it.

Kind of like how Betty sent you a message today with no context and made it visible to all your friends so I just get to scratch my head about wtf is this in my news feed?

Makes sense in that it isn't important enough to call, but you need to let someone know some information when they next look at their phone. If it's important, I call. Below those two priorities, I'll let you know next time I see ya, if I remember.
